From the Episode: The Soup Nazi, Season 7, Episode 6 Elaine has finally got her revenge on The Soup Nazi by revealing his secret soup recipes. No more soup for anyone...
I saw an interview with the soup nazi actor who didn't expect to get the part but was happy to just get the part. Little did he know he'd go down in pop culture history as one of the greatest characters ever 😃
The best part about this scene is it came back to her haunt her when the Soup Nazi came from Argentina just to testify against Elaine in court. At the final ending of the series. Just genius writing this show had.
Yeah it's interesting despite that Jerry mentions that he's evil, but I don't really find Newman that evil at all except for the times when he rats him out on stuff like the first time he's shown and then with the barber one where Jerry shaves his head off to get back him back at the end and then again when Newman sees him making out with a woman at the theatre watching Schindler's list which then Jerry chases him off. But mainly I still think Newman's a normal character.
@@tristanchan4949 Because Jerry, George and the others are technically the bad guys of the show since they do bad things, that's pretty much part of the premise of the show. So naturally, Newman would be likable for the most part to be the antagonist.
@@michaelwainscott2633 me neither really. Unless it was her with the soup Nazi or the Toy collection episode. The easy bake oven yo 🤣 Although the “Master of your own Domain” was funny too. She was a part of a good collection. She fit in nicely. She was never supposed to be a main character. Don’t overthink. It ruins it. 🤷♂️
The Soup Nazi was not only mean to Elaine, he was mean to practically everyone. & what's probably amazing to the entire audience is that Elaine herself was the only one out of all the mistreated customers who had the nerve to the Soup Nazi every bit of what he deserved & shut his butt down.
Elaine KILLED it with this scene - from the evil look she gives to the Soup Nazi, to the reveal that she has his recipes, to this delivery at 0:40, followed by her screaming "NEXT!", it looks like Elaine finally got her revenge ...at least until the show's finale when she was called out by the Soup Nazi in court
“Soup Nazi” was his discreet nickname among the customers. He had no idea people were calling him that until Elaine says it to his face here. That adds to the impact and power of her words.
I've been to the real place in New York and it was great. There's a place in Lake Worth, FL that is just as good. The mulligatawny is amazing, but the guy only makes it when he's in the mood. Sells out quick.
Lesson: Always treat your customers with respect. I remember a fruit stand that put up one of those, "We reserve the right to refuse service to anybody" after having a dispute with an Islamic woman for wearing a face veil and refusing her service. That place was gone in less than two years!
Sitcom people are weird with food. Sheldon tried to learn Chinese so that he could order Tangerine Chicken, - rather than just cook the blasted tangerine chicken himself. One takes an hour, the other takes a year. That's what a 187 IQ gets you.
Came off more as ghetto, rather than evil! But then again that's Julia's "bro"-saying Latina non-white Latin English accented Nuyorican ancestry starting to show more! As the show progressed we saw less white Elaine Benes and more Latina Julia Louis Dreyfus! Elaine was such a stuck up bitch in early seasons with a superiority complex.
*Rolls eyes* Only in Tyler Perry's version. If it was the actual Soup Nazi of real life, pretty sure either the crowd would pin her down or the Soup Nazi would use any means to fight back.
I never understood why Elaine made it so personal to the point that her highest goal in life was to drive him out of business. If I don't like the attitude of some restaurant/kitchen owner, I just go someplace else. There is no law that says that all people in the restaurant business are required to be nice and happy all the time.
Yeah Kramer wasn't an asshole on the show but he sure was a racist in real life. Check out the video of him arguing with black hecklers at a comedy club. He sure let his true feelings show that day. He will never live it down.
The Law of Divine Oneness You obviously won’t live it down, because you randomly join comment threads and bring up something that happened a decade ago.
Oh No, with the recipes revealed we'll have to make our own soup and never have to walk all the way to that hot-headed fool ever again. The end is NIGH.
Yeah thats right & not only that she mentioned she was going to give the recipes & possibly other copy's of the recipes to every restaurant in town. Which means the people of New York wouldn't need to go to the Soup Nazi anymore. They can get there fave soup at any Restaurant. Even Newman & Jerry could do that too.
Elaine ruined this guy's business. In addition, there may be case for copyright infringement, maybe. This is one of my favorite episodes but I never bought that Elaine was the hero here.
Secret soups recipes aren't copyrighted, One example is Coca Cola who kept their recipe under lock and key while refusing to file copyright for decades until the late 2000s because those have to be publicly filed and released for everyone to use *but not profit from*. Soup Nazi has no claim without filing his recipes with the copyright office for everyone to use, anyways. Frankly, his whole business was about him being a dick so he deserved losing his whole power trip.
I'm 100% on Elaine's side here. If I'd been in that situation, I probably would've done the exact same thing. Just on behalf of myself and every customer he ever mistreated. I hate bullies and I hate gatekeepers, and that dude was both.
Not at all; recall in "The Soul Mate" how Newman was chased by Jerry through his apartment building. And in "The Reverse Peephole" when Newman (off-screen) climbs an apparently large tree to retrieve the fur coat. Kramer notes this and asks "Where did you learn to climb trees like that?" to which Newman replies "the Pacific Northwest!" It is therefore evident that our conniving postal worker has had his fair share of adventures! Newman demonstrates his athletic abilities, yet again ;)
