14:51: You don't have to rely on Thant getting scholar, you know. You could get a hero that starts with scholar. You start with both a learning stone and a tree of knowledge, which would give you very good chances of getting advanced scholar very quickly. And you have a lot of useless gold to cycle through heroes.

Thanks for the upload. I LOVE the series. The character of ViDomina was one of the central characters in Wizardry VII and VIII - I believe it's actually pronounced like VidOmina - she even wears skimpy leather in that game.

Love these playthroughs, my game has greatly improved watching them.

@42:25: Dendroid Soldiers have extra branches in the back of their neck, but most visible are their toes. Guards have shorter toes, Soldiers have longer and lighter colored toes.

You can tell dendroid guards from soldiers by looking at their feet. Dendroid soldiers have green toes. They also have spikes on their shoulders and elbows, but that's more sutble.

Nicely done sieging and defending with those skellies.

Even without necromancy, the skeleton transformer is really nice to consolidate all the random critters you get from everywhere. Running hero trains bringing everything in one turn to a necropolis feels really nice.

Challenge Idea: Skeletons only using only skeleton transformers used but no necromancy.

we can see 2 of 4 pieces of Armor of the Damned on the map the set is very theme appropiate for the run

Good job, YT recommendations. *waves* I did the "jam everyone into the skellie transformer" trick back in... the late 90s? (egad.) Buying the skeleton dragon in order to make it into a regular old one feels Not Great, but the armies were preposterously large.

So what's the next challenge going to be? Skeleton Warriors? Archers?

It's interesting hearing you say you don't want to cheese it. But to be honest, the strategy of 1 (or 2) giant stacks with single figure stacks baiting and blocking is rather cheesy itself. The battle AI system clearly wasn't designed with that in mind and would probably have been better if they'd implemented a 'minimum share' across stacks for the human player. Either that or provide AI armies with a wider range of unit variety to counter it. Enjoying the series though!

dendroid soliders and guards- the diffrence between them is in the legs. soliders have white legs, while guards have brown legs(this is how i tell them apart)

Completely agree with not accepting the autocombat on that town defense. Definitely feel like cheating. Glad you didn't went with that. For spreading the animate dead, maybe you can have some luck with an Alchemist hero (Tower Might heroes) ? They start with scholar. I can't remember if there's any who start with advanced scholar, I don't think so. But you do have a couple of learning stones, so that's a pretty good chance of getting advanced scholar. Unless you don't want to recruit non-necropolis heroes, because they don't start with skeletons. Man, Vidomina could surely benefit from having Slow. And Forgetfulness, but you haven't found that yet. If there would be more necropolis towns, a high level Vidomina or Isra might not even need the Vampire's Cowl to reach 100% necromancy. Sadly that's not the case here. But, yeah, where there are few, powerful enemies, the cape would be better, as there would be fewer losses. I have to ask Norovo, are you allowing poor man teleport ? That is attack some monster, retreat and recruit it back on another far-away town ? I always felt like it's cheating, but I saw it accepted pretty broadly.

Hi. First to say I love your videos and this has relightened my love for Homm3. Im wondering how you make the damage and possibly kills be shown when you mouseover in combat? Also what is the additional information you have while mouseovering in the overworld ( coordinates) and some additional information shown in black and orange while hovering over troops in combat. Some really cool stuff though that I don’t know. What hotkey shows you the range of the enemy units? How did you hotkey distribute one unit to each slot? How did you see how many units you “should” lose before you decide to battle them?

May I ask why you didn't use the teleport in the battle at 46:07, which would have saved you from taking so many losses?

Im sorry if this is insensitive to ask, but is there any chance you might be colorblind? especially in the first skellies only video you refered to orange as blue quite a few times, while in this one you seem to call them orange every time, but now im ust too curious to not ask 😅

Do you ever do PvP? Might be fun to set up a match with you and AbsoluteZero and some others. He normally streams on Sundays or Mondays but doesn't always do Heroes 3.

Interesting. Love this old game and still play it on occasion. Played it a ton over the years. Are you using some sort of cheats? Level 5 difficulty and your enemies are weak? Attacked a castle with crappy ballistas and you break through in 2 rounds? At level 5 difficulty and full opponents?something seems amiss.

Lets be honest, lots of dogs would have destroyed thoose skellybones. I wonder why hellhounds and cerberi dont do bonus damage to skeletons, it would be a nice touch.

Do you know that if you have a stack of upgraded Skelly's and all other slots are units that are not basic Skelly's the necromancy will give you upgraded skeletons? Quite interesting thing tbh

I’m going to watch again, but something is definitely amiss, cheating, or I don’t know. You have 70,000 gold and have spent at a minimum 25,000. Your castles could have acquired you at most maybe 25,000 and I’d say that’s high based on early choices I saw. Did you pick easy monsters option? What else are you doing?

Which magic do you think is better between earth magic and air magic at expert level? No nerfing yourself when considering the difference. I like mass counter strike and mass haste is very nice, at the same time mass slow is about the same as mass haste and the earth elemental summons are really hard to beat. just carious on your thoughts on which is better???

Loved when near the end the one stack skeleton survived the attack from 1 mummy and just back handed that pile of dust. Btw I dunno if I'm missing it but necromancer towns why aren't you recruiting the avaliable skeletons I don't think it stacks the amount gained each week forever does it? If you don't hire them doesn't that just waste the skeleton production boosts?

Why do you not upgrade some of your skeletons when you have over 30K gold in the bank? You're way past the point where you can comfortably have 2 stacks of skeletons doing stuff and one of those stacks being upgraded would probably be quite helpful.
