I love that they designed Sekiro to be perfectly playable without the HUD. Each prosthetic having its own activation sound is so useful, and the fact that Sekiro visibly flicks his wrist to show the player what they just swapped to is clever. Hell, sometimes it makes it easier when I can't see the enemy's health or posture so that I don't get greedy at the last push.
These videos, from No Hesitation through this most recent, have been so inspirational. I abandoned Sekiro on my first play through because I didn’t understand the game and it’s combat. The last few months of viewing have inspired me to start playing again. I beat the Sword Saint for the first time today, and now it’s onward to further challenges in the Gauntlets. Your style, your skill, and your lack of hesitation have made for a great role model for this average gamer.
@@grimreefer213 same here. To date Sekiro has my favorite combat system of any video game I’ve played. Frustration became a challenge, and over time a challenge became a comfort, and comfort expanded to become a challenge once more. I always look forward to my annual playthrough of this masterpiece.
@@coltbusick6644 Hell yeah, Sekiro has the best combat i’ve ever played for sure. Monster Hunter has pretty good combat too even better than dark souls perhaps, but nothing beats Sekiro. It is incredibly satisfying deflecting attacks and getting into the flow state. It is not easy at first, but over time you begin to learn the rhythm and how the game wants you to play and it gets more and more fun over time. I did around 5-6 playthroughs on vanilla difficulty and then started playing charmless/demon bell. It has tested my skill and made me feel like a noob again but it is very rewarding and fun. I’m glad you didn’t give up and gave it another chance. Sekiro is a masterpiece. I wish we got a DLC or a spiritual successor to Sekiro at some point, but I know it’s only 3 years old.
I love that on top of just doing these bosses flawlessly you showcase different tools and use multiple combat arts. Gives your fights an extra layer of flair. Your boss videos are truly unique. Thanks for the content!
Bruh I'm obsessed with your Sekiro playing. I wish you had 50 more videos, but you've basically already perfected every fight in the game 5 different ways. I finally beat Inner Father last week after 4 days of struggling. I watched you fight him and use the umbrella, so I switched to that on his firecracker combo and his stealth air slash. It helped me out SO much
Holy shit, they actually can! Every time i think I've figured out all the game's secrets, there still ends up being some little feature like this that I didn't know about. Sekiro truly is a masterpiece
Earlier today, I beat inner father first try. No idea how. Can't recall perfectly, but I may have already tried it in the past. Still, in this session, it was indeed the first try
Idk if this is a good strat for Inner Isshin, but I stack all of the steam from projected force from his multiple attacks (either from his strong circular slash, bullets, etc) and then let it all out after I yeet back some lightning and his posture/health are low enough that the projected force attack will break Isshin. As for Genichiro, when he does the Floating Passage I just run back and get ready for deflecting 5 consecutive hits that are easier to deflect than deflecting twice then deploying the umbrella + spinning it once.
Request: Gauntlet of Strength: Mortal Journey / No Prosthetics / No Skills / No Items / Demon Bell / No HUD / Flawless If you're looking for a challenge. ;)
why didn't Geni do his lightning reversal reversal? Can still tell it's Inner Geni by the Sakura dance, but that's really strange. I've never seen him not do it
Come on man you can't keep playing like this! From software is gonna make sekiro 2 impossible for us mortals thinking the first one is too easy after watching your videos. 😂
tbh if sekiro 2 ever came out i would want it to be harder or at the very least different. The reason being that if it's harder we can't just breeze through the game like it's nothing after the first sekiro. or if it's slightly different, we'd at least be forced to learn some game mechanics, thus making it a bit harder at first. I need challenge, but after beating sekiro like 20 times it's just not that fun anymore since there's no challenge. altough sometimes i hate having challenge tough
@@Unkn4wN_TM I'm with you. I think the beauty of it was taking the challenge and giting gud. If Sekiro 2 ever comes out and doesn't offer the same amount of challenge of learning it won't be the same
@@ignaciocavallocarbonell8246 Yeah, exactly! I mean, i would still play it for the story, but even tough i hated having challenge on my first playthrough and dying to all bosses multiple times, i think that's something we take for granted. After beating the game multiple times, you realise you start to miss something you once hated
Umm...no. Vault over doesn't do damage. What he did was that when Genichiro's posture broke, he vaulted over so he could buff while Genichiro was posture broken, cause he wouldn't get time to buff up in 2nd phase. In case you didn't know, as long as the red dot appears even if the posture is recovered, you can still deathblow. So you can exploit that time window to buff yourself between two phases if you know that the next phase is gonna be relentless and you wouldn't get to buff up for the upcoming phase. Its a pretty classic and common move to pull off amongst Sekiro players. Idk if you're new to the game or not, but just know that this isn't something crazy or high IQ play, its just using the game's mechanics to your advantage. Ofc, I'm not saying ONGBAL isn't great (in fact I too do believe he's the best), but like, once you get accustomed to Sekiro you notice that many of the things he pulls off you can too. Ofc, I make it sound easy, but I have had many cases on me when the boss got up and attacked me while I tried to buff by vaulting over!
@@grandduelslover3055 LilAggy is more of a speedrunner, as a result he does more like, cheesy stuff, kind of AI loops and stuff. I have yet to see his *true* skill at the game, without Kuro's Charm with Demon Bell.
Also ongbal I've been wanting to ask, do you play with a controller or keyboard and mouse if controller how do you do that slow walk I can't do it with controller but there's a button for it on pc
Its so criminal for this man to have only 29.2k subs. I am actually annoyed I only just found his channel as well. It is just so satisfying watching him play sekiro. Definitely going back on his old videos for sure.
As always, thank you for making these videos Ongbal-sensei. At first, I wasn't a big fan of Sekiro, but that changed after I found your videos, and how you made the gameplay look so fluid and cool. I bought the game specifically because of you, and it's probably the best game I've played so far. So, once again, thank you, for introducing me to my favorite game.
I hope you know that your videos gave me the drive to play this game more. I haven't gotten platinum yet but I have beaten all the bosses. Thanks for the great videos
I am still not sure how to deflect the Glock shots from Isshin with the umbrella consistently. I usually end up blocking one of them and taking minor damage. What's exactly the timing?
Holy fucking shit... Without a doubt the best Sekiro player in this universe. How in the hell did you just beat the 3 hardest bosses in the game in under 10 mins!!
I think out of all the boss fights in senior, Owl (Father) is my favorite one, followed by his inner version, sword saint isshin and Emma, the gentle blade
Holy shit I had no idea you could deflect the vertical owl, this will make my life so much easier. I honestly think I've optimized 90% of my game through these videos.
That spear is used mainly for the headless ape to take out the centipede after he is down from that heavy blade attack , it does a lot of posture damage .
I feel like Sekiro was an amazing experiment for making better combat systems. Elden Ring should be a lot more interesting combat-wise than Dark Souls with it's dodge and poke mechanics.
Inner Isshin's phase 1 is extremely annoying for me. Especially that stupidly fast counter he does after blocking a hit. Do you need purple umbrella for his mortal draw attack?
When i played sekiro for the very first time, I was so excited because i wanted to explore the game. Also very scared of the combat mechanism. Then i realised sekiro is a game of rhythm. Each enemy has its own rhythm and you have to notice it.
