@@humannomore7759 Probs depends on the enemy. With some enemy groups, its pretty easy with the right combat arts. I mean, take the whirlwind slash or the mortal draw. You get group cleave damage from those, so it's not that hard to fight, it's actually the same as a normal boss fight in concept. You move outside their range, let them come to you, and then start up the animation just before they get in range and you'll stagger and cleave health. But against the Ashina elite, harder to do because they have that standing thrust attack, which they initiate outside of range so if you try to cleave them, you can be caught out that way.

@@ethandonnelly1973 I'm mostly talking about the enemies that have the potential to beat you 1v1. I can understand that beating a group of Ashina soldier, dogs or monkeys would be easy (like the monkey group in the sunken valley that you need to beat for the monkey booze) but Ashina Elites, Lone Shadows, Senpou Monks and Ministry Samurai are annoyingly difficult to deal with in groups and you have to rely on parry dancing until one of them does a perilous attack. If a group of Lone shadows swarms you (I.e the group of 3 in the second Hirata estate), I don't think whirlwind slash would help much but I can see how using mortal draw or dragon flash could stun them, giving you the time to run away and prepare another mortal draw/dragon flash. But in that case, the gameplay becomes less of a battle and more of Sekiro keeping a distance and damaging others from that distance. And one error would kill you, seeing how they'd easily stun lock you and murder you in a few hits. Again, that's why you're encouraged to use stealth or crowd control techniques, like the ones you pointed out and shinobi prosthetics (flame vent, fire crackers etc...)

@@humannomore7759 Yup, that's why I said it depends on the enemy. Hell if they gave you regular enemies that had two health bars? Even that would be pretty brutal. It's more of a fatigue thing I find, My first attempts at alot of these fights are surprisingly good, but when I've died to an attack I wasn't expecting and restart, I'm tilting and starting to get tired of fighting, and die alot easier after. Ashina elite as a group IS very tough, I already know that much because I was running loops of upper ashina castle for XP, and when I got caught out I had to fight quite alot of them, and honestly just to make things fairer, I'd take a hit, go down and backstab after rez. Or use that tooth you get from Hanbei. Against monks its actually pretty easy, if you have High monk yourself. Against the shinobi, hell no. I just fought that fucker in the well, took four or five goes. I thought you're supposed to be able to backstab hin btw? I tried sneaking up, he turned. And then I tried to drop from above but it wouldn't give me the prompt, it also wouldnt let me fall directly on him either, it was weird. Either way, that fight was annoying. Mainly because Sekiro has camera lock issues in tight spaces, but also because the longswordsman are assholes. I'd fight shichinen over them anyday, it only took one try of ghost boy atleast

Only consume 4 spirit emblems (?) even you do like flamethrower. not like Axe, consume spirit emblems while you do spin attack.

If you have the umbrella upgrade that blocks the terror attacks, it's pretty easy even without being as good as ongbal

My strat was to use the phoenix umbrella to tank all of his terror attacks and get close, and when he jumps, clap him with the anti air deathblow. You do need to have divine confetti active tho, if you don't you won't get the prompt for the deathblow in midair.

I've just encountered this boss like twenty minutes ago, I've seen online that the community hates him, but I'm a bit confused cuz I've just clapped him first try, I'm guessing people weren't aware of the umbrella back when the game dropped?

@@yoyoflamingo5966 Ehhhhhhh, I played Ghost first, I've just come to sekiro in the past week-ish, and I agree, you can't compare them, but i agree only because Sekiro's is infinitely better done in my eyes. If Ghost allowed you to just start a duel whenever you wanted, I'd totally say Ghosts combat its pretty satisfying, because the duels are alot like sekiro fights. Understand their attacks, and react. But that's much much simpler in Ghost. It took me three days to beat it, and that was with me dicking about for one of those days, and it stopped being entertaining after I fought Kenshin. That duel was brutal, it took me an hour non stop of restarts and death to finally beat him, but at the same time that fight also ruined everything else for me. The rest of it became too simplistic. Besides they're more similar than most would think. People like Ongbal show that if you actually stop hesitating, and you just match enemies blow for blow, they drop pretty quick, which is pretty much the same as how Ghost works. Break guard, usually by well timed guards and counters, and they drop.

@@ethandonnelly1973 True! I can totally relate to you when you say that a lot of the swordsman have the same movesets, but, you have to admit, ghost and sekiro are both very very good!

I'm not gonna lie, I came here to see what the community thought of the Shichinen because I've just clapped it's cheeks first try, I'm a bit surprised to see alotta people found it hard to get past but I'm assuming that's because most didnt know about the umbrella

@@ethandonnelly1973 I believe I found it much before the umbrella. Also the headless are definitely designed well to be a source of stress.

@@velstorios9473 Yeah I think I'll have a problem with them, I absolutely HATE delayed animations in attacks, the start of the animation makes me get ready, then the waiting kills me, and then I miss when it finally slaps me at the speed of light. But Shichinen, even without the umbrella, uses like, homing projectile mechanics from the early 2000's, so if you run horizontally, and then run in the direction they came from, they start to curve and then dont have the turn radius to follow you when you change direction, so it was really easy to just avoid them when I ran out of umbrella charges. I'm shocked a boss like that drops an Item as good as the ceremonial dagger. 15 extra charges of prosthetic or CA? From an early 2000's boss design? EZ clap boys lmao Now, I have an appointment with headless ape and his wife so Imma go get slapped around and probably regret laughing at Shichinen

@@ethandonnelly1973 Both are terrifying for most I feel before getting figured out, and they are designed in a way to make their scary elements prevent players from treating them normally and thus may delay trying to figure them out, shichimen stops being creepy after getting figured out, headless still maintain some of that until you killed a good number of them, but the thing in fromsoftware's games that different groups of people have different difficulty scoring of different enemies in a more significant degree than other games I believe.

@@velstorios9473 Like regional dispositions towards certain enemies? That's actually pretty cool. Shichinen just reminded me of games I'd played when I was a kid, Didn't seem like much but others have really had my number.

This game IS an anime, maybe not, metal gear levels of anime, but even anime isnt always MGS levels. Nothing you can say can change my mind about sekiro though lmao
