Since I was a kid I've had a bit of a crush on Sela Ward. She has such a magnetic & distinguished look, and she conducts herself as smart and capable. Nobody in the world like her.

I don't know how you people think she's into him. She smiled and complimented his eyes ONCE. The rest was just simple, southern politeness. If she was into him, she would have had a LOT more to say when he was asking about her cheerleading outfit.

Craig played the flirting game with most of his women guests because they both knew it's just a game. I think he didn't do that with Sela Ward because he sensed her feelings were more sincere. And maybe so were his.

To be fair, he flirts with all of THEM. If they didn’t flirt back, you’d call them rude or uptight or ‘not fun’ enough. Or humorless. Women are expected to walk this insane tightrope of never taking offense while never letting the male doubt his own attractiveness for a second. The author Virginia Woolf put it perfectly: “Women have served all these centuries as looking glasses possessing the magic and delicious power of reflecting the figure of man at twice its natural size.” Not only is Sela drop-dead gorgeous (just read most of the comments on this thread) but she’s Southern born and bred, which means she’s going to get hit on CONSTANTLY (with varying degrees of subtlety) while being expected to be absolutely unfazed by it. Graciousness (aka, making the other person feel comfortable) is her stock in trade. (She can also turn on a pretty mean death glare, though, when needed :)
