Hell yes, I absolutely love Selaco. The higher difficulties are brutal, lol. I've only played as far as Level 5 because I'm more eager to experience the story stuff when it's added
Hell yeah, glad to see the love :D And you've made it pretty far then! I'm really curious about how much will be added (or will be changeD) to the existing chapter. And agreed, the higher difficulties are so, so punishing. Glad I was able to push through on Admiral, but it wasn't smooth sailing 😅
Man, Selaco is a real *beast* - chowing down on half a pizza, eating like 3 cakes and chugging multiple litres of softdrink before running around at breakneck speeds without throwing up 😂 And somehow with all those calories still has a pretty decent figure
There's a pretty rare chance that Dawn will burp loudly after eating/drinking, which is a nice touch 😄 But yeah: super impressive that she manages to gulp everything down within seconds 😂
Thanks! :D I didn't know either until yesterday basically hehe, wasn't sure if it was worth it at first. But I like the game and it deserves a showcase IMO, so why not :)
Awesome! I had such a blast playing the demo ages ago. The amount of interactivity is CRAZY! I prefer to call them Retro Shooters myself, or even just a plain shooter, heh 😁
So since Selaco is GZDoom, and GZDoom by default allows for bi-axial (Xand Y axes) sprite billboarding, I wonder if Selaco has that option? It would make the sprites far less flat.
@@Vytaan The devs said there is going to be a bigger update coming soon, maybe next week. And later, they want to add some story bits to the first episode, which are still missing. I wanted to wait at least for the next update. But I'm not sure yet.
I always laugh at the name "Selaco", which to me means - "The Villager". But the game is cool. I've played the demo and I am waiting to be published on a non-DRM game store. PS. I am surprised that you did not mention F.E.A.R., or maybe you haven't played it.
Heh, interesting. Is that a direct translation or is it a special meaning to you specifically? I've never played F.E.A.R. so that explains a lot. I did notice the store page mentioning the inspiration!
@@Vytaan Selyak = villiger, the -o suffix is the definite particle (the) in the local South Western dialect. We, Bulgarians, also laugh when someone says 'goeje (goede) middag!', but you get used to it. In Eastern dialect it very much sounds like 'give me the d'.
I actually haven't! You'd be surprised at how many games from this genre I haven't touched. Same goes for older games - I should really try stuff like Blood a try someday.
It's a lot of fun to play something else for once! I expect the interest to be lower than usual, but I really hope people enjoy. And hopefully it might even help if they get stuck or can't find a secret :D
Well crap, I really support branching out to non-DOOM content, and I'm going to leave a comment and stuff for The Algorithm, but I'm going to refrain from watching this video because spoilers. I'm waiting for this to come to GOG. 🤞
@@metala As much as I love Doom, in this day and age I don't think it's fair to call these kind of games clones as they do a lot of things differently.
