I play/sing a bit of bluegrass and became enamored of The Seldom Scene some years ago. And "Like I Used To Do" has a special significance for me. My dear wife of nearly 52 years passed away some 6 weeks ago after a 7 year journey with Alzheimer's Disease; and for most of those 7 years, I sang this song to her at home, at our local bluegrass jams, at open mic nights, and in the ER at the hospital the morning she died. It has a special place in my heart & I cannot thank The Seldom Scene enough for having brought it to my attention those many years go.
What a lovely tribute to both your wife and the Seldom Scene. Its such a mean disease, I wish we threw some of the money our gov't squanders on solving problems like Alzheimers.
What a beautiful song. I’ll never forget the first time I heard Fred Trevor’s sing it. One of the best performances’ I have ever seen. Love the song love the singer.
