There are many similar pro-gun quotes that people misattribute to founding fathers and the framers. It’s no more true than the anti crowd trying to tell us that the 2a only has two commas. People think if they claim the founders said something that would absolutely support their cause, that the lie would be worth it. Disingenuous at best. Well the 2A's legal test is "In common use at the time". If the cost of an F-15, any federal restrictions aside, is multiple millions of dollars, then only the "privileged few" would be able to own them (eg Gates, Buffet, Zuckerberg, Musk, etc). Therefore no in common use. A brand new select fire M-16, if it was legal to own, would cost an average American about $1500-1800. Perfectly affordable to anybody in the middle class.

If the Government is by the people, then like back in the 1910s for aircraft or the 1960s for computers the people can be consulted to help build a better union via their own expertise in new technology. I am all in for every video being about "machine guns". I used quotes because no army in the world would refer to a select-fire rifle as a machine gun, but our government does, for purposes of gun control. Additionally, if someone does not agree with civilian ownership of machine guns, that person does not truly believe in the Second Amendment.
I believe it's the same way with suppressor's and suppressor companies, they don't want the deregulation of them because then they wouldn't be able to charge as much selling them to wealthy people as "specialty items".

NFA doesn’t mean a thing for this issue. Repealing the NFA would only deduct the already unconstitutional $200 tax, plus processing, on a select fire transfer. You’re still going to be transferring a pre-1986 weapon with a heavily inflated price tag.

As an OIF/OEF veteran who carried the M240B and and M4 w/M203 grenade launcher attached during my 10 years I can say that having a Fully auto Rifle and a Heavy Machine Gun are two different worlds because the M4 can’t do a barrel change and the barrel on the M4 will malfunction and melt around 700 rounds. Plus the rifle ammo capacity is smaller compared to the Heavy’s bandolier. An M240B can go on forever because you barrel change every 200 rounds or so to cool. That’s why rifles have selective firing for semi, Burst, Full Auto to minimize overheating. That’s why the Military changed the SAW (M249) into a light machine gun rifle. The Army and USMC used the SAW to clear out buildings which is wild because it can be Magazine Fed or Belt Fed.
That's why MANY people make their own "machine guns". It's Our Right to build, own and posses ANY small arms that We the People desire to have. As long as we can purchase "M-16 cut lowers" and M-16 / M4 lower parts kits, some people will Refuse to Comply with these "laws" which Violate Our Constitutional AND Civil Rights. Those people are F'n Heroes and Patriots.
Then this also applies to Dexter Taylor from New York that just got sentenced 10 years in prison for manufacturing firearms; not even machine guns but those scary "ghost" guns that he was making for his own personal use which federally is completely lawful. Glad you hit on the MG investment. I have thought about that myself. If nothing changes. Yeah buying a MG will grow in value faster than any other investment. So buying a $100k MG now can set you up nice fire retirement if you sell it. But I also believe that MG should not be regulated. If they became unregulated. All those investments would lose their value.

“Shall not be infringed” means we have the right to anything and everything we want and most importantly can afford. The reason these machine guns are so expensive is artificial limited supply… we need manufacturers to be able to make and sell these weapons without regulations from the government. A good starting point would be removing silencers from the NFA since they are a safety device, remove SBR/SBS from the NFA since it was only added because the original draft was to ban handguns and people could have just cut down rifles and shotguns, then reopen the MG registry, and actually prosecute violent convicted felons in possession of illegal MGs. In reality, the NFA and GCA should never have been passed since they are abhorrent to the constitution, that being said, I think we should start making a big push to actually gut the NFA.
Alaska has LIFETIME car registration for 100$... if that isnt PRO american i do not know what isnt. This REPEAT and often for new cars OVERPRICED registrations which is plain theft.

I think according to our Constitution the civilians have the right to own anything the militia has. Please don’t say “Because my safety has a 3rd position that makes it a machine gun.” Some binary triggers allow for 3 position on the safety (safe,fire,binary) and we don’t consider them machine guns. It gives ATF an excuse to say “We are making a change to the definition of machine gun because other people redefine it.”
Where do you draw the line? That’s my question. I personally believe you should be able to have machine guns. However, I am aware that throughout history civilians owned warships. Should a civilian be able to own a completely functional A10? Or a Nimitz class carrier? Or a nuclear warhead?
