I really like keystone panels. With a pure keystone panel you can at least use optional USB, HDMI, other cord types, or an Ethernet to Ethernet keystone for example, while also having the ability to just put a manual wired keystone in as well.

I'm not into IT yet, but I see that the patch panel has RJ45 connectors on the front, and wires splitted on the back. Why is it that? Wouldn't be easier to have RJ45 connectors on both sides instead of splitting cables and connecting indivually? I

I never really understood the use for patch panels going through all that patching while a switch is more simple you just plug in the ethernet cables easy. Anyone?

Structured cabling is meant to serve as a permanent link, as the proper cable used is solid core conductors and the patch cables are stranded, since they need to move more.

I remember being taught not to remove the shielding from individual wires. When you punch down the wire, the blades will pierce just enough to make a good connection.
