gene fucking killed it 🔥🔥 what an amazing response. can totally see how / why he won an emerald cup. dude has an eye, great nose and insane amount of knowledge and passion. truly inspiring dude
100% speaking my language, always look to improve the line, hurts so bad to back track and recreate a line. Thank you FCP good shorty clip much appreciated. 🙏
God damn I love these breeders! This is such good knowledge,I've been breeding my own smoke all my life and there is ALWAYS so much more to learn. Love y'all and thanks so much for the knowledge shared ✌💨💨
as he mentioned about halfway through, unfortunately it turns out alot of times that what i like to smoke seems to come from small, weak, powdering mildew magnets.
I hope people realize here is that the Y chromosone from a male plant has nearly identical chromosones as his father his grandfather his great grandfather and so on. . The male plant gives a female plant his X chromosone. if you breed any male plant with any female plant the MALE plants will have all the traits from his fathers Y chromosone as the mother can not give the male plant a Y chromosone. Thus when you are selecting males you are trying to find what trait said male holds on the X chromosone. Trust me these guys are glorified pollen chuckers. Using males gets tricky because the trait you want on the X chromosone is from the dad and you do not know it it is recessive, dominant, co dominant. If you want Pink pistols which is a recessive trait then you must do test crosses with a female with pink Pistols to determine if the recessive trait is on said male. Anyways these guys do not talk about doing test crosses or recessive traits , dominant traits, co dominant traits, heteroygous recessive , homozygous dominant, heterozgous, homozygous . Not one mentions a punnet square, NO ONE is mentions Mendel. You literally could learn more about genetics in grade 11 Biology then what these pollen chuckers talk about. Sory not impressed. if anyone one wants some free Cannabis seeds hit me up Ill send ya some home runs from my personal collection of over 30 years. I do not sell seeds I have been breeding since 1995 and I have som esuper quality genetics.
don't waste your breath i'm too busy larfin about how, to select males with good breeding traits, you want to select the males, that have the traits you want, for breeding.
Wow. Two years later and these insights are now backed by scientific evidence. It’s amazing how these guys could feel that out without more modern genetic tools.
There is a discussion with Mean Gene and Derek Gilman on the channel Ganjier titled Breeding Basics for Cannabis, if you want to here talk about it more.
Gene is a pollen chucker and he admits. " I take multiple females and males out them in a room together and let them cross pollinate. If that aint chucking nothing is.
IMO ... tall male with solid stalk and a short female with a good symmetrical growth and close nodes. you might need to run 6 of each and grab the best ones ... then run a 2nd set run (6 of each) pull the best ones and breed them ... never touched base on ruderalis breed into indica / sativa / auto / regular flowering 😊 i ran 6 of each decent strains. took the best 3 of each then the 4th ones of each i kept to watch the completion while the other 2 of each finished up ... the 3 of each lacked a few nice characteristics of the 4th ones ... i bred into those and the last 2 of each and theorized the concepts of likes and dislikes of each. i kept the moms and took clones to base a gen 2 and bred a few more characteristics of the others and kept those i liked and bred back to it and got about 19 that carried the traits nearly exact as i used those for clones to keep the genetics on point. mom plant was gen 1 pulled clones and ran them with same gen. i kept mom in 24 hr light with 600 watt lighting ... i used her clones to bred others into.
That generally means it’s a female plant when successive nodes swell. Males tend not to do this although I have seen it on some male plants but never as pronounced as on a female plant and not at every node all the way up the main stem. Females do this in response to the weight the plant will put on.males tend not to have weighty branches so node swelling is not as pronounced.
@@jasonmgavitt2357 true but i had males with same sized bubbles shoulders or how you want to call them and they had female scent too on the stem rub but not so fat branches like on his sisters.
@@jimmyganglia5234 I had a male that had the "bubbles", we call them muscles or biceps because they're getting stronger to hold the buds lol. The male tricked me because it also showed visible trichome production before it showed sex in pre flower and had an amazing terpene profile. I love pollen chucking so I obviously dusted a small clone of each female I had. The male was tigers milk from bodhi, (original)bubba kush x (green crack x stardawg).
If you learned anything here forget it, as these guys really have ZERO clue about genetics. Not once did I hear them talk recessive or dominant traits. These guys are basically pollen checkers that have zero clue about true genetics. You know they know nothing when they say look for these traits and breed plants with those traits. Maybe those traits they see are recessive and only show up when both parents hold the recessive genes. If you breed a purple plant with a green plant 100% of the off spring will be green. When you breed the brothers and sisters together 25 % of their offspring will be purple because both parents hold the recessive purple trait gene. Maybe the smell you do not want is dominant and the smell you want is recessive. When you breed the parent for the smell you want maybe their offspring always give you the smell you do not want , so you throw those seeds away thinking they do not pass on the smell you want to their offspring. When in fact all you had to do was breed the brothers and sisters together then grow their offspring out and find the offspring that has the smell you want because it has the two recessive genes that give you the smell you want. When breeders have ten minutes to talk and none of them mention dominant or recessive traits, you know they have ZERO clue. Coming from a breeder who has bred cannabis for 30 years I know what I am talking about. My genetics are for me and my friends only and they are always free. I have over 30 growers that help me with my breeding and selecting process. It is long and time consuming, with many journals. it has taken me years to build my stable of genetics. very soon I will be opening my own seed bank and when you buy my seeds there will be no mutants, fluff or wasted time. All my beans are solid producers that have been bred and grown to make sure they produce. I breed for production first. The most important thing for me is bud structure and integrity. The smell and frost are second on my list. Who wants stinky bud that looks like wheat or who wants crazy frosty weed but the buds are tiny. I have purple strains, crazy skunk strains, hella frosty strains and a wide variety of fruity and lemony strains but all my strains are heavy producers.. My genetics all came from seed stock from 1995 threw 2019. I have never stopped breeding I still have original Shiva seeds, Skunk 1 seeds, NL 4 seeds, original haze seeds, Durban seeds, Hawaiian seeds, UBC chemo seeds, I have over 50 000 beans in my collection with well over 100 unique crosses. Im working on Black berry kush strains now with many different moms. I have at least twenty males that I use in my breeding program. I keep them alive in veg over the winter then put them in an outdoor patch in the summer in the fall I harvest the pollen and use that for my breeding program. I have a few males that are over ten years old these males work great with some females and others they produce mutants. Once you realize recessive traits are the ones we want usually it takes a while to sort out how to get them to show.
again I listen & Learned something , helps when i keep my mouth shut andd let the brain work , Thanks Dude I am a chucker , neptuneseedbank.com/product-category/breeders/seven-leaf-genetics/ anything you like hit me up , phylos.bio/org/6g613l83/seven-leaf-genetics-the-bigkush-flora-nugs-durty-kurty-mr-longboard-tex-arkana-farms-meltyheads-rob-moore-gro-koski
I appreciate your videos man I have a question please they're supposedly another way to get the plant to give you 100% pollen and no flour and it's not using silver or STS something to do with using hormones you have any idea what I'm talking about
when selecting male plants for breeding, you kind of want to select the good males, because then you get the best results with breeding. that's how, when breeding, you select the males you want, so you can select the males to breed with the selection. nigga let's talk about some expensive dogs.
These guys call them selves breeders, but they really never talk about recessive traits and dominant traits , they never really explain that some traits we want have to come from parents that both hold recessive genes. When we mate those two together we must find the offspring which PHENO type is expressed from having a plant that has two of the recessive traits from their parents. Most qualities we admire in Cannabis are recessive traits and qualities we dislike are mainly dominant except maybe early flowering. These guys are basically pollen chuckers who pretend to be breeders. That is why when you buy 10 seeds from any seed bank you will get 10 random Phenos. You will also get many plants that their buds are fluff, mutants and so forth. I have a friend that spent 10 000 USD Pheno hunting and ended up with 3 Keepers. He literally sprouted 400 seeds from respectable breeders and only had 3 keepers. The rest were complete garbage. It took him 9 months to finally have three Phenos he could work with. get me to Cali where I could grow hundreds of plants legally and three years of time and I would have some of the best genetics on the planet. We are all working with poly hybrids now which makes it next to impossible to make a homozygous strain. if these guys are the best breeders in Cali we are doomed. Not one of them I would consider a true breeder, they are just glorified pollen chuckers.
@Warlock Please tell me at what point do they talk about Dominant traits, recessive traits, co dominat traits. Please tell me where in the video where they talk about doing test crosses to see what traits are dominant and which ones are recessive. Please tell me where in the video they talk about heteryzgous and homozygous plants. Trust me bro POLLEN chuckers they are. None of them have a clue on how to truly create proper genetics. Glorified pollen chuckers. That is all they are sorry I watched the entire video. When he started talking about dill pickles I was like OMG this guy is a joke,.
@Warlock he literally says Ill have an open pollination with multiple male and females LOLZ> Now he has zero clue where any trait come from. He basically admits hes a pollen chucker. hmm take a bunch of different males and different females and breed them HOPING I hit a unicorn. LOLZ pollen chucker.
Is there a seedbank or breeder that you respect? What should be for you the right price from seeds breeded in a scientific way, as you described? I like what you write i would like to know more
@@bbenny350 Well im not syaing there is no good breeders out there. As there is plenty of good beans on the market. pesonally I think tree stars has some of the best genetics out there. I like lIT farms, Grandiflora, compound Ethos. In reality you will eventually find some good beans. Im just not impressed with this line up .
