You want to run your pump 24 hrs a day for best results. For the average pool you want to maintain 2500 RPM to 3000 RPM for at least 4 hrs a day. The rest of the day you can run your pump at a lower RPM. Most manufacturers already have their pumps programmed by default for best performance. Check with your local electrical provider for the best times or rates throughout the day for the most effective operating costs. Thanks for watching.
Is there any one make/model you recommend specifically for in-ground Salt Water pool? 15 year old pool and I'm on my 3 pool pump + 1 rebuilt(all Hayward) everyone keeps telling me Salt System makes ALL new pumps last 3-5 years max.
Salt systems definitely shorten the life span on a lot of pool equipment. When changing motors it’s best to use Viton shaft seals. These seals are designed for salt water pools. Contact me if you need help finding the right seal for your pump.
@@xLittleVinnie If you are going from a single speed motor to a variable speed it would be best to replace the whole pump. If you need a pump or a motor l do carry them. If you would like to email your contact info l can help, my email is on my RU-vid channel. Thanks for watching.
