A few years ago we watched the movie in my Spanish class. Everyone, when the credits started to roll at the end of the movie, everyone was so quiet and still. Even the bullies. You could tell everyone was heartbroken. The rest of class no one hardly talked and we all left the classroom in almost complete silence when the bell rang. She was an angel on earth. She was robbed of her life. But boy, what an inspiration... She was something.

It’s been 26 years today that she passed. Chris is currently camping in Joshua Tree national forest on this day. He says they filmed a music video there. He’s there to remember Selena 😥 he still loves her. 😭 life’s unfair.
I am african american and I know that I have seen her movie over 100 times, love Selena spirit and music! So sad she didn't get to live her life longer..beautiful Singer Period!

mizzmini45 I can relate to the person you replied too. In the African American community (some of them) it wasn't the norm to listen to other types of music especially in other languages. I didn't know about Selena when she was alive. My mother introduced the movie to me. After that I began having an interest in her music and learning Spanish. This started in elementary school. I hope you can understand from my post.
Honestly I feel like he lover her more than her own father, When he talks in interviews about her he makes it seem like he saw her as the MONEY making machine meanwhile when Chris talks about her he seems soo sad, the sadness in his eyes and like he still loves her and misses her deeply. They looked so happy :(

1st love nvr fade n dies..Chris did try to move on wth his life marrying a lady named Vanessa but their marriage nvr last..I heard tat his ex wife mention in an interview tat its difficult to compete wth a ghost..Chris body is there but his mind n soul doesn't seems to be present when she nid him..but aleast he got 2kids who till tis day very close to him..Chris mention tat his daughter is more like him into guitar n she can sings..his son is more academic inclined but he also has dreams to be part of the music industry..oh gosh..I wish they could be Chris n Selena's kids..
it hurts me every time to see how he was her person and she was his and someone took that away from them both 😭. i admire her so much she was a true inspiration , and way before her time . and the love they both shared and expressed with each other was so reall and beautiful . May God continue to guide Chris Perez, she loved him so much from the first moment she laid eyes on him, she saw him for him and saw all he could possibly be. True. She was fated to pass on at a young age. Ironically, her father made it possible for her to marry and experience married life before she did. If he had been ok with their relationship, they definitely wouldn’t have married so fast.

I don’t think it was about Chris. It was always about Selena. Everyone in the band could have a relationship, because they were replaceable. But Selena couldn’t be replaced, and that’s why her father didn’t want her to be in a relationship.

I'm a non-Spanish speaker, but as a teen my family use to watch the Spanish channel every day after school. Mostly we would watch Xuxa, because we were trying to learn Spanish, and her little kids show was a fun means of learning. However, after Xuxa, there was about an hour of music videos that followed, before more adult topics were covered on talk shows, and we kids would change the channel. It was during that hour that my family and I first learned of Selena's talent and beautiful voice. We were hooked! Of course, not speaking Spanish, and not having internet like we do today, none of us realized she was a Texan, just like us - that would have thrilled us, I assure you. All we knew was that her voice was amazing, and we enjoyed her videos whenever they were played. My youngest sister insisted upon picking up a cassette of her music, and we all shared that cassette whenever we traveled as a family. About a year after we discovered our lover of Selena, I was sitting in school when it was announced she had been shot and killed. We had "Channel 1 news" every morning, and for whatever reason the t.v.'s in all the rooms turned on unexpectedly, and "Channel 1" announced that Selena had been murdered. I was floored, not only because this "news" channel wasn't suppose to be on, not only because they thought her death was breaking news - it was to me too, but because I knew exactly who Selena was, and I was learning just how close to home she had been all along. To this day, I still can not believe her life was cut so painfully short! She is missed something terribly, and she will never be forgotten.

And after she sang this song it was said that she put the headphones on in bed and listened to it all night with rewind or what's called auto rewind on it. I think that is so cool. I remember watching the Selena for the very first time ever and hearing OF her story while in job corps 1998. I remember all of us young ladies in our dormatory CRYING OUR EYES OUT!!! She was ABSOLUTELY, ABSOLUTELY, ABSOLUTELY BREATH TAKING. Gorgeous, talented, happy seemed with a sweet heart and although God knows best, I pray that her parents, Chris and family continue to find strength in the most high. RIP darling, RIP. :*(

Again, I am not judging or looking down on him, I try to stick to facts and common sense. I sincerely wish him and his fiance Melissa Jimenez well, they seem very happy together.
