That and the fact that Selena Q was singing in Spanish since she was a kid. If not everyday, then damn near everyday. Because it was her job. To my knowledge, Selena G hasn't. She sings primarily in English. So of course she's gonna have an accent and it's not gonna sound as good as Selena Q. But Selena G still did a good job and she did it to honor Selena Q

You all need to stop. Selena Gomez did a good job with the song. You know, I'm probably one of the few Americans who heard about Selena Q after her death (I was 15 at the time). And it doesn't take a rocket scientist to know that most people who have a hit song would be thrilled to have an up and comer (or someone already famous in this case) covering their signature song. Constructive criticism is fine on Selena Gomez's concert covers of this song. However anyone accusing Gomez of being a copycat should take their concerns to Selena Q's father, because HE"S the one who wanted Gomez to cover this song. And even so, remember, Gomez wasn't the first to cover her songs. That honor goes to the then up and coming actress Jennifer Lopez for the film "Selena"...
