She said she will never deny a fan an autograph cause she said she knows the fans are the ones who made her famous she said she will never mess up the image the fan has of her just cause she's in a bad mood b/c it's not the fans fault for her bad day 😱😱😱 she's so humble and kind I can tell by her responses that she really mean it
@Bow Down pretty sure that's more or less her natural hair color bc I can't find one picture where she's brunette anyway what does that have to do with OP's original comment lmaoo
Selena was so FINE ! That one bitch that killed her a straight hater ! She took away a beautiful talent ! I’m black and I don’t understand her Spanish songs but they fire 🔥
Yeah I believe in fate and if someone was meant to die then they will If not by one way then by another. It is very messed up that was the way she died though. It was slow and painful and she definitely didnt deserve that. I wish she couldve had less pain. I love her and her music so much.
But then Jennifer Lopez would have not had a huge advancement on her career, she would have not been recognized, and nobody would have known about her if Yolanda Saldivar hadn’t done what she did. Yeah I understand it was painful that Selena died but had she stayed alive then Jennifer Lopez wouldn’t be where she is today!
@@pablosolis5419 Maybe even Shakira wouldn't have the same success she did if Selena were alive, since Shakira was so successful because the Hispanic community was in need of a diva after Selena died and elected Shakira as their new Diva
@@pokemonward1747 oh my poor Selena, she had to sacrifice her own life and success as a singer in order for Jennifer Lopez and Shakira to become successful being famous singer. And Yolanda Saldivar made sure these 2 famous Spanish divas got to where they are now by killing Selena, she did a good/bad deed I’d say!
+Monaray618 She doesn't sound fluent at all.. And her Spanish got worse by mid and end of the interview, lol. But she had 4 years of learning Spanish by 94. She started learning to speak it in like 89 or 1990 because her new record label wanted to take her to Mexico.
+ILYJC91 FE she sounds decent though i wish i could speak that good. Im having a hard time learning spanish because i cant trill my r's. so i'd be happy to speak that well.
+ILYJC91 FE I speak Spanish very well and she actually doesn't sound that bad. Especially for someone who had no formal training. She taught herself to speak it. She had to.
@@moisepicard3417 There's plenty of RU-vid videos out there of J-Lo speaking Spanish and it's terrible. Selena had better pronunciation and fluency, period.
Furthermore, I think the Quintanilla family really took efforts to introduce and adapt Selena to her Mexican roots, something Jlo's parents didn't. Selena had to perform, sing, and do promotions heavily in the Latin American market, and this required speaking Spanish at least semi-fluently. Jlo on the other hand, has barely any connection to her Puerto Rican roots, she's American through and through.
I’m an interpreter and I speak fluently in English and Spanish and her Spanish is really good here. I don’t understand people that say her Spanish isn’t good here.
Exactly! I am fluent in Spanish, write and read it and in my opinion, she was very fluent and had quite the vocabulary for someone who was born and raised here without speaking little to no Spanish in her house. She was good!
I speak spanish the same way she does, and watching all her interviews since I was little really helped my confidence when it came to speaking in spanish to other hispanic people, gotta love Selena, still influencing people even after her death
vegg1000 That's doesn't make any sense. Being Spanish is being from Spain, she's a Mexican American so she isn't exactly Spanish, might have roots their obviously but not from there in birth culture or heritage. She learned Spanish later on
Selena is so humble she told the interviewer that she doesn't want to take all the credit for her awards she said its her band too ., & that she wants PPP to ask about them too not just all about her
She spoke Spanish really, really well. I never paid attention to her interviews before, but got someone who grew up speaking English and learn through audio books and things like that, she spoke quite fluently. She was great! It makes me so sad to watch her now. I was a little girl when she died.
Like a damn professional, she took off the other earring, and kept pushing. She made it all look so easy. May Heaven keep enjoying your presence, Reina.
The fact that she acknowledges that all of the hard work and awards she’s won isn’t all based on her she said the awards I’ve won is put by hard work and dedication of me and my band mates .. I appreciate that
@@miss_karenjoselin fluent speaking means you can communicate without any major barriers of understanding. She may not have native level fluency with a native accent, but she was a fluent speaker. She didn’t need the help of an interpreter, and she was able to speak on very broad topics and opinions in Spanish.
Who cares how she speaks Spanish. It's understandable. She didn't have a translator sitting next to her. She was adored for her Spanish SINGING not for how she spoke in interviews.
As an American, it gives me solace that she wasn't the best at Spanish. It makes me not feel bad for speaking little of it. I'm much better at French, but not fluent yet.
Yasirah Kulháneková they criticize her Spanish because she of Mexican decent. They figure any one with her background should speak fluent Spanish. Her parents did not teach her Spanish, same as my parents so we had to learn it on our own. So depending on how we learn it determines its flaws if any.
@@jogmas12 Exactly! Non Spanish speaking Hispanic Americans get shunned all the time for that like it's an expectation that one has to meet it's the kind of discrimination that one would face in Mexico but it's astonishing when you encounter that in America because although people say that the US has no official language English is the most dominant language spoken here it's the first language your taught in school I don't know why people act so dumb about it people need to get over themselves and stop making such a big fuss about little things like that..
Let’s look at this scenario: if Selena would have lived past March 31, 1995, she and Los Dinos would have traveled all over the United States promoting the “Dreaming of You” album. They would have appeared at American award shows, late-night talk shows (Jay Leno and David Letterman), sporting events, etc. She would have performed at the 1995 NCLR Bravo Awards in December 1995, where Jimmy Smits and Jennifer Lopez hosted the event. You may never know, she and Jennifer would have bumped into each other backstage and would have become friends. The movie on Selena’s life would not have been made. You may never know.
I agree, but I with her great attitude, talent and promise...she would have been hooking up with a lot of great black producers...Singing with Jolo, B, Rihana, etc.
+Eduardo Hernandez Actually, she was gonna tour with a different band. That's what Chris said, and she was scared about it bc it was gonna be the first time that she wasn't gonna travel with them. She was gonna be a solo pop star in the English market. It was always meant to be like that, that's why after she signed with EMI, they started to only put Selena on the albums, instead of Selena y los dinos like they did in the 80's. Their interest was always just Selena and her crossing over.. Not them as a band.
I love linda.
I love how my parents educated my whole life around her , she's an amazing singer that I will love forever her legacy will live on! That wonderful young woman did not deserve to die. I don't hate Yolanda I just hate what she did. My parents are Italian (mom) & Mexican (dad) I'm not fluent in both languages but I would love to be like Selena an learn to be very fluent and become worldwide just like her! I love selena!
Dammit I don't speak Spanish, but I had to chuckle when @ 2:56, the host asks Selena to stand up, then (host) motions with her hands for Selena to turn around (to see you know what! :P), and Selena just sits back down. I get from that, Selena was more about appreciating her talent rather that her beauty. Not trying to be just another pretty face or sex symbol.
It was something about her, she was a such a loving person. You can’t fake what Selena had. I’m like 15 fluent on a good day, but I could put pieces to and gestures to understand what they were talking about. Selena was special 😩 miss her here
How pretty and sweet she was. I can't believe she's not with us anymore. She died when I was very young. Just a little boy. I wasn't able to enjoy it until very recently, when I rediscovered it. It is strange how someone so full of life and naturalness has disappeared (physically). It is very sad.
