Hi! Love your channel and could listen/talk hats all day. I got a question. I want the Hudson so bad but do they run big? I usually wear a 57 in Stetson and it fits just the slightest bit big but not overly big. Should I go ahead with a 56? Thanks!
That is a very tough question…because Stetsons are extremely erratic in sizing. Selentino does run a little big. I don’t think you need to compensate by going a whole size down..usually not that much.. A Selentino can run a little bigger than a Stetson, but it’s not that simple, Some Stetson stuff runs true to size, some of it runs big. They all vary from hat to hat. I will say Selentino runs a little large,but not always a whole size larger than Stetson. On average, maybe a half size large? It’s hard to say, we don’t always have the Stetson line and Selentino line at the same time, 🔆👉PERHAPS SOME VIEWERS CAN CHIME IN HERE?.. DO YOUR SELENTINO HATS RUN A WHOLE SIZE LARGER THAN YOUR STETSONS? OR DO YOU BUY THE SAME SIZE?
Do prefer the queen to a Stetson whippet? I own a premier strat and an open road but I’m looking at something like a whippet but the queen and sterling seem like good options too.
Yes, I would take the Selentino Queen over a whippet personally, or an Akubra Stylemaster , the Stetson is cool, it has the cool factor, but the felt quality is just so much less reliable, I can’t recommend a whippet.
@@quadrogong1111 thank you! I actually owned a stylemaster in carbon I think it was at one point. The difference in brim length from sides and front kind of threw me off but great quality. Thanks for the help I always refer to your videos when making a purchase!
I tried ripping out the white tag inside my Stetson Chatham Fedora, and it looks like these tags weren’t meant to be torn out of the hat. Is that correct?
No, but those loose stitches won’t affect the hat, it’s ok , the integrity of the hat will secure. That seam can stay open for decades w no issues. Cut it next time😁
