"Self Control" VS. "Maria Magdalena" - Plagiarism? 

Searched it to find if anyone is of the same opinion. Sandra's version came out in less than a year after Laura's.

Sandra copied the phrase "creature (s) of the night". It was sung exactly.

Maria Magdelena was first different song but he lifted a few lyrics & a rift to make a new song...brannigans always was a cover of that version.!😉

No doubt. Sandra was just better but total copy.

Self control is from Raf. Braningsn is just a cover and the original from Raf is far better. Sandra literally copied a part of Self Control chorus, no ifs, no buts.

I think Raf actually wrote it for Laura.

Clearly plagiarism...but Laura Brannigan gets a free pass, bc that song reminds me of my first girlfriend, Whitney, when I was 12 in 1984, so case settled.

If it is plagiarism so be it Sandra's hit song a millions times better !sorry I admire Laura's song top
