Showing five different fixed blade knives sharing the self defense theme. The knives will be listed under the video, plus some karambits, and Cold Steel folders. Enjoy! :]
The HN-9 is essentially a cyberpunk fairbairn-sykes fighting knife. Needle point blade with a razor edge. The whole concept of the HN series is ease of cut and thrusting with little to no resistance due to the fine edge of the blade.
The pikal knife is actually a clone/copy of a knife made by Nash who owns bladetricks. His knives are made in Israel, really out of the box/cool designs. Check him out if you get a chance.
Didn't this channel go dormant for many many years? If so welcome back and thanks for putting in the work. This was one of my favorite channels years ago :).
I'm still here! RU-vid might not have suggested it in your recommendations for whatever reason, RU-vid is shady. Be sure to subscribe and press the bell icon, too.
I guarantee that the 440C spike will do exactly what it is designed for, and unless it is a mob of zombies that you’re facing it will survive the encounter.
That's true, but they should not copy it exactly, they should change the design a little, like how US companies copy each other, but they change the designs enough to not be shamelessly copying.
Nice knives, all great self defense options. I recently got the J&V cda Combat from Spanish Santa this christmas and I've been carrying it everywhere. I just can't put it down lol went straight from the box to my belt
I actually got this one after watching your CDS review so I gotta say thanks for making that! I was trying to find the CDS version for ages and ended up stumbling on this one on one of the spanish knife sites, It's a great lil camp knife and a bit thicker on the tip than the Jeo-Tecs I own. I'm really diggin the blade on that Steel Will knife, the S&W m&p looks nice too I'm definitely gonna have to check those out.
All these would be nice to have in a real situation. I have 6+ years of Krav Maga training including knife and stick techniques and the advice I give if you can't avoid confrontation is to kick the balls wherever is possible. You can verify for yourself holding a knife and sticking your leg to see how much reach the leg gives. I'm not saying to not use the knife. I'm saying use the knife in combination with kicks at the same time.
As a fellow Krav-trained guy--agree with all of that. Lots of ball-kicking! (And the "drive 'em back" defensive kicks.) My own bag training includes plastic knives combined with kicks/strikes--it's not "knife fighting"--it's fighting, with a knife. My carry options include a Cold Steel 6" Luzon (LOTTA reach!) and a S&W M&P 4" Special Ops--cheap steel, but doesn't matter in a knife that is only carried for self-defense.
Yes indeed, when it goes back that far its basically what they call modified, most folders are modified too because they're a lot shorter so whatever tip design is a bigger proportion of the total length.
I nearly bought the spike too. It went out of stock just before I ordered. Havok will probably have my business soon after this though. Oh and I wish I could get their witch fingers up here...
I have a Suarez International Grab-N-Stab... no longer made... 0-1 tool steel, awesome grip, reverse edge, tec-lock kydex sheath, mean as Hell. It is super cool, but may be going the Ebay route. It's in perfect condition.
I don't agree with knife fighting but i understand the ideea of self defense. But, in my humble opinion, straining the arm to tighten the knife reduces the speed of the strike. That's why I think that a knife for defense must have a more pronounced guard, bigger than the examples you chose. Just an opinion, but good vid as usual!👏💪👍
I always go for the superior steel when buying a shank. This way I can brag to someone during their last moments of life about the steel I selected. Besides... 440C is not a self defense metal.
Short blades are good for CQC (close quarters combat) but' Unless you're experienced combat fighters who can handle life and death situations of CQC, it's best to keep your enemies at distance to Compromise them. Everyone thinks they carry but so does your enemies they too see variety of tactical knives and carry them. Keep that in mind. The saying "Never bring a knife to gun fight!" Is there for a good reason. 1st choice would be a Glock handgun with Cold Steel Hold Out 6 or 5in Talwar Voyager folder. Bigger blade heavy duty but small when folded. ☝️😎
There is also the factor that America is 70% overweight and 40% obese. The chance someone will die from heart disease is far greater than having to defend with or against a knife. The average police officer only lives 5 years after retirement - #1 killer of them is also heart disease. So they survive the street, but do not survive all those late shifts eating fast food.
@@WeAllJuggleKnives If you're Cop then it's a duty to keep yourself in shape, not just to protect but also for personal health. Nowadays more cops are training well in fitness and health. As for eating ' it's a long day behind dashboard or chasing and dealing with incorporating individuals that is understood. Salute to police all over world for 24/7 hours of community protection ‼️ 😎👍
@@WeAllJuggleKnives I say this all the time. You get officers hyper concerned about their safety, which is not necessarily a bad thing, but then eating the worst junk foods with no regard to their health. Chances are way higher that you survive the street but go off to retirement with back issues, diabetes, blood pressure, and heart disease. Not to mention the stress and hours of the job and the number it can do to your heart and family life. All that said, this is why I love martial arts because it is a positive way to release stress, keep you healthy, get you moving and keep your mind fresh. Long comment but glad to see you are in great shape now. I have been following the channel since the sensei izzy bottle murder days!
