Right on. Very easy to understand, makes sense. This is powerful. I'm learning cane and knife fighting and I like tactical pens and umbrella also since I should be able to fight with it already. I'm teaching myself, but I got lots of experiences, and I practice in various ways for hours everyday and I customize and make my own weapons and develop my own system as far as I know. It's far from fully developed, and I had not set out to do this or even study any martial art, but my natural path and combination of skills and experiences has placed me into this which it has unfolded to reveal to me an expanse of powerful possible capabilities. I practice a lot in a forest outside my apartment door while my dog hunts about. Nobody knows what I'm doing. The cane goes with me everywhere, so do kerambit knives generally, but I have to leave them behind to go into some places. I got tough combs with stabbing handles. Only makes sense for me to practice with short sticks too. I used to use a 59" hiking staff I'd made, but then realized I could use a cane and customize it to make it more powerful at everything except spinning, which mine is less than good at. I have all kinds of canes now, even though I built my own from the beginning and have been customizing experimenting on and repairing one Oak Cattle Cane for 6 months now. I got sword canes I've made better. I even got lightweight rattan. Sticks all over the forest. I know wood and tree species characteristics so I can make good selections and sticks are dead simple, so I can try different species.

I have my 3 ranges covered: kraut masher (like a wooden mace) for short range, walking stick for medium range, staff for long range. I train with all 3 and keep one of them within reach wherever I am.

I don't know what qualifications this guy has, but the way he moves indicates that he has never studied/practiced any martial arts or if he did it was for a very short period like a few days and he was very bad at it. I really feel sorry for people watching such demos and trying to learn from "teachers" who need themselves serious tuition.

No, I think you are the one who doesnt study martial arts using a weapon, what he thought here is like in kali a filipino martial arts. Known for using knife and stick.
