A good option for ppl in the $2000 range is the Sony a6700 with 18-135 kit lens. I’ll be trying it out this year!

Great way to start filming (to see if you like it) is to get the Fourth Arrow Baton Arm kit with the mini fluid head and phone clamp, then just use your phone for filming. Budget friendly option.

I'd recommend looking at the SLIK Pro CF-635 for an even more compact tripod. It's been great for packing around during turkey season!

I have the A7C which is a full frame in an APS-C size body, while it's good for reducing some of the bulk, the full frame lenses still bring the weight and size up significantly and at times looks disproportionate. Current lenses are the Sigma 14-24mm F2.8, Sigma 24-70mm F2.8 which is my main one, and the Sony E 70-350mm kit lens which I have to switch to before I'm ready to take a shot, which is quite inconvenient. I definitely need a more versatile setup in that regard

Sony alpha has a great filming quality! DSLR are heavier than mirrorless. Don’t go on budget lens, lens are very important to image quality. Be careful with sun rays overheating the camera. Have a few extra batteries and memory cards. Great video, Kaitlyn, love it, amazing tips!

You have to borrow / try the Insta 360's. I'm running 2 on the ground on 11hr loops and 1 up in the tree stand. Doesn't matter where the deer comes from, I can reframe it perfectly. Thanks for the content and good luck this season!

Good luck this season...My season starts Sept 27th...How are you carrying things in as a self filmer...Do you end up with a backpack for your normal hunting stuff and a separate one for your filming gear or do you just get 1 big bag for all of it...

One bag. I use the tethrd fas pack and it's honestly perfect because it's not too big but also has a ton of pouches and pockets
