Self-guided walking tour in Maastricht, Limburg Province, Netherlands (2/3) 

In this video we're going for a 0.5km hike from the Graanmarkt to Vrijthof, where we had lunch at the Fotomuseum aan het Vrijthof.
As the capital and the largest city in the province of Limburg, Netherlands, Maastricht is widely known for its 1,677 national heritage buildings (rijksmonumenten) - the second highest number in the Netherlands, after Amsterdam.
The city is also the place where the founding treaty of the current version of the European Union and the Euro currency was signed in 1992.
Today, Maastricht is a hotspot for university students due to its highly regarded universities and as a result it has a relatively large international student population.
The list of spots is described below, by chronological order:
1 - Straight ahead towards Onze Lieve Vrouweplein, with the Basilica of Our Lady on the right
2 - Turn right into Onze Lieve Vrouweplein, with the Chapel Onze Lieve Vrouweplein on the back of the Basilica
3 - At the end of the square, turn left towards Bredestraat
4 - Continue straight ahead on Bredestraat
5 - Continue straight ahead into Vrijthof
6 - On the square, there are side-by-side the Basiliek van Sint Servaas (on the left) and the Hoofdwacht (on the right)
