More self-heating hotpot meals! These sorts of meals are hard to find in Asian markets here in Kentucky and the prices are inflated. I'm glad you're giving us another vicarious taste -- thanks!
I’m checking different Asian specialty stores in the Seattle area. There’s a place over 20 miles away that I may be able to find one of these at a reasonable price.
@@krahser6914 actually no, regular rice still has a lot of water in them, relatively speaking. It is probably dehydrated rice. Dehydration process helps a lot in speed cooking.
Love the very moody feeling while waiting for the meals to get done in front of a rainy window. We've been having a drought here recently and there's nothing I want more than to make a good soup and eat it while watching the rain outside.
That looked so yummy and that last hot pot was cool to see getting warmed up, you could see all the lights from the city lighting up in the background!❤
I still can't believe self heating instant meals are an actual thing. I remember watching Cowboy Bebop, and Spike opening some cup noodles, and pulling a zip line on the bottom, and it instantly cooked it. I just assumed it was beyond science. There was no way we could have anything like this today, yet here we are.
Self Heating Meals existed even back then. It was developed for military rations but became available for the public to use in the 90s when Beebop was made.
@@tickledonions9483 The example they taught us was self heating coffee, teacher said tho that the moment cafes became widespread they were out of the market
These are so cool. I think ive seen something similar here in germany before. But only once. I wish we had more of these self heating meals, they remind me of M.R.E's !
I don't know why I find this channel so calming and relaxing 😊 I always enjoy your content and when I have trouble sleeping I always come here. Thank you for sharing these things 💜🥰 lots of love 💕
The ultimate ASMR for those that love food. Makes me wish I could get these hotpot dishes easier here in the states, it would be wonderful to be able to have them ready on a cold winter night or in case of power failure.
If you have an Asian market near you, check there. I live near a few and see some of these there. I think you can get a package of just the ration heaters online too
You're so fortunate to be able to eat and enjoy all these different scrumptious food and not succumb to hypertension or diabetes!! It's great to be young.
When you open up the kung-pao chicken and saw how it was packaged i just heard heard Steve's voice saying : " OK , Let get this out onto a tray , Nice "
Just wish that the companies that made MREs for the Canadian and US military would commercialize their products like this, to would help a lot of people in this busy world. I have tasted many a delicious MREs in the Canadian military, just wish for old time sake I could taste them again. Also, would be great for camping, one-day hikes, picnics and so many different activities. I hope you are sharing these hot pots with Ms. B.
Mala was a spell I used to cast in EverQuest as a magician. It was a fire and cold resist debuff, unresistable, and made the creatures more susceptible to magic attack.
A lil trick I remember from my time in the marines, if your flameless ration heater ever seems to not work, some kneading, and a little bit of salt added with it, will activate it.
Those hot pots are always SO spicy! emptied the broth out to try and make it milder once, was 50% whole dried chillis! First time I've had heartburn from them
Those "Endorsed by" attempts to boost their sales crack me up! I'm just trying to imagine someone struggling to decide which box to take, violently being hit by the mother of all epiphanies all of a sudden, after seeing George Clooney's face photoshopped next to a shrimp on the label! Seriously, why?! loll
There are so many Asian foods that I would love to try, lotus root being one of them, I can’t pronounce or spell them without looking at the words or pictures. Although in the US we are getting better Asian ingredients/foods here, but I can’t find everything ingredient wise, or many recipes to follow that are true Asian recipes. I just love you two, love watching the restaurant’s, foods and how cute Miss Smiley is. You have such a fun, relaxing and light hearted channel, I appreciate you letting us into your lives each week! ❤
never heatd of sweet potatoe noodles before....found a store and bought them...very excited to try them out😃love your videos...very relaxing and also entertaining
where the hell can I get one of these? they look so good and it comes with a heating pouch straight out of an MRE. for the longest time, i never understood this technology not being implemented in a ramen bowl or anything like it, and here it is, and it looks pretty effective. If only you could find a ramen you can just cook by adding water like this.
The heating pouches in these are different to MRE one's.. The ones in an MRE are magnesium based and generate hydrogen gas. The ones in these self heating hotpots are calcium based and are safer.
The Kung-Pao Chicken Rice looked delicious. These hot pots seem fool-proof. We don’t get them in the States but I would try some. Thank you, DancingBacons.
I’m so jealous we don’t have anything like this in the states. The technology is there! But god forbid it’s affordable and actually help homeless get a full meal smh Love the video! Always love to see food~ ❤
it's probably because the rice they use won't make it past US fda scrutiny. I've got a suspicion they could even be plastic. Lols. This after eating so many of them.
I bought one once and felt terrible about all the single use heating packages in the box that I was putting in the landfill. I'm already not doing great for the environment buying a disposable pot of noodle with flavoring packets, but at least that can be offset by using paper, the chemicals in the heater packet are bad news all round
I got one from the store other day for a camping trip for fun. Pricy as heck but I actually had half a tea egg and some pieces of beef. Definitely quality but for that price, I could have eaten at a restaurant down the street if I was at home. This stuff is at best good for picnics or emergencies. I wouldn't even buy it again for camping, I had a stove, cheaper to just buy ready-to-eat meals and heat it up on a butane stove. The amount of garbage waste these things produce is insane.
@@rammen4 do dog risk their life to eat shit like mountain goats 🐐 risk their life just to lick salt? and y they risk their life to do so? then again, i bet dumb cxxt like u never ask! always never short of dumb cxxt like u to fxckin open up their cxxt for people to see their disgusting cxxt?
I don't think that's the case. I feel like the compound that reacts with water may produce toxic fumes while reacting. In the military rations that use that kind of heating the heat sealed bags with tin foil on the inside so that compound doesn't get mixed in with your food
I disagree. Most food-grade plastic partitions are non-biodegradeable. You will only see the recyclable ones in food like Salad, where no heating is required. This is healthier than cup noodles in the long run, but it doesn't mean it was intended for everyday consumption. Also, correct your spelling, it's "Particles" not "Particals."
@@globsonestreams1969 on the tin foil part, I agree. This would have been perfect if the tray itself was lined with aluminium foil. But that will surely jack up the price.
@@Jaronite like the others said, it's not really meant for everyday consumption. Not sure how it would work in your country but in mine this would be perfect for outings that only take the whole day. You don't have to bring any heavy for commute for those with no cars.
I used to buy these when I go mountain climbing and stuff. I just cant deal with cooking outdoors and also having to clean up the utensils with limited water. and these were great for that purpose.
