Hi, Really nice tool. And simple to use. They do mask the email password now! that's a great thing they did. When adding a password, I did not find the way to have the email giving the password as well. Any idea? Looks like I have to write a separate email to give the password. In all cases, thanks for sharing this
Dave great job as always! For Pingvin Share, the email notification only seems to work with GMail's SMTP service. Would it be possible to get compatibility with SendGrid. Currently you request the smtp host, smtp email, smtp password, and smtp port. For SendGrid to work, there also needs to be a spot for the smtp username, which can be different than the smtp email.
When doing a set of Cloudflare tunnel videos, can you maybe do a short video how to properly set Pingvin Share so that it can be accesses from anywhere when self-hosted on your own home server? Also, Elias said that Cloudflare tunnel has a maximum 100mb per request, so proxy should be turned off. But that seems not to work for me. I couldn't upload any file, and Pingvin Share would start to act weird... So maybe if you could test it out by yourself? Thanks!
Thanks for surfacing this. How did you find it? Thanks for asking the Dev to mask passwords. Such a little thing but that one thing makes me really worried about judgment/leadership of the project. How did the Dev respond?
Already fixed in the new release :) Pingvin Share does really focus on security but while migrating the config variables from .env to the frontend, I missed this point.
I love it so much! Thank you for bringing it. IT is also available for ARM means that could run it on a raspberry pi if you wish. I just wonder, what needs to be done for a software to be able to run on ARM devices?
Like you said correctly it runs on ARM64 and I'm also running Pingvin Share on a Raspberry Pi. You just have to install Docker and follow the installation steps in the repo:)
I'm a layman, it's confusing for me, I just wanted an open source alternative to Imgur and I tried to do that but I don't want it to be a "local host" because I want to use it to share media to demonstrate suggestions of resources in Github projects.
