Yes badimo/ancestors can help us self-initiate. Every individual's journey is different. Whilst there is an established pattern of initiation, where the initiates spends time face to face with a gobela. It is not the only means of training and initiation. In some cases the ancestors may identify a need to take a different approach. Rare occasion where the initiate cannot spend time in face to face with a gobela. The ancestor might train you at your own home directly rather than through a gobela.
The ancestors/badimo determine whether the initiate, who is likely unaware that they themselves have that readiness. Being in the process self-initiation is not easy but you can do it!
