I like the idea of putting in some wood as spacers. that will help keep out metal filings from between the plates. I'm going to make a few welding magnets for when I powertig weld.
Multe comentarii rautacioase.
What's with those gloves? I once knew a man who lost a finger in a drill press because the ripped glove got caught in the machine. Protect the fingers, they are important! Nice rivets.
hiii , i have a doubt. how much weight a magnet can hold a metal? Is there any formulas for calculating the weight of magnet's self weight? Suggest me with this. ASAP.
Very interesting, those things cost $4 or $5 a piece. You made $40 worth in what 4 hours and used what $25 materials. I'm inspired i'm gonna make magnetic parts dishes like the ones harbor freight gives you each visit...
joracer1 just a suggestion; if you’re working on engines or gearboxes etc, be careful using magnetic dishes as it may magnetise the parts. This can cause metal filings etc to stick to the part instead of the drain plug which are often magnetised to collect metal debris to protect gears, bearings etc and alert you that metal is coming from somewhere. Maybe a failing bearing.... I recall that many turbine engines have magnetic chip detectors to alert the Pilot or Engineer that something bad may be going on in the engine. cheers
tom thompson that’s not correct! Welding magnets can be cheap, true, BUT, STRONG welding magnets such as these are over 50£ per piece, which is a lot in these parts of the world Also, using his technique, you can build custom angles that you can’t buy, such as 51 degrees I bought welding magnets at 4£ and they can’t hold anything, I use them to hold screws when I open something up
