Hey there! I'm an eBay OG and have recently come back to sell auction style - I sell most of my work, almost all prints on Etsy now. I have a decent enough following that I got a good price for my very first auction since over a decade ago and it was SO fun! So I'm going to keep listing. I agree, without a big email list, it's a big risk to put art up for auction. I'm happy to have found your channel, which I found through eBay!
I just could never get the auctions to work. I'm sure you see my art pop up in similar categories you're in, I've had buyers say they also own your work. But nope auctions just never worked for my stuff. I've been better off with buy it nows at price anchor type prices (highs and very lows). I've definitely seen your stuff occasionally get into the thousands on an auction before, if I go check your profile and sort by highest bids there's usually at least one in the hundreds. I'm sure you're never able to predict which ones those are, I just can't produce the quantity needed to get those couple super lucky listings. I think max auction price I got for something was $500, but that's after 4 years of selling auctions on and off. Most end at a dollar frankly.
Thank you! I want to do a Christmas art auction and I figured I would give ebay a try again. I used to sell ACEOs, but I have since moved on to larger scale paintings and do have a following on social media platforms. I will give this a shot! :)
Jose how do you create the little eBay link graphic that is on Facebook story? I list on eBay then share to fb and IG stories but only the picture posts, no link to eBay. TIA!
