Gig you have a good buyer,I sold at .90% for years,but I run into a lady that has a business where she sells most of the rings I bring her if they are just scrap she gives me .90% of spot if they are not she gives me more so far I average a little more than 100% with her I found a 10k ring a while back with 16 diamonds it sold on the net for 3500.00 which weighed 13 grms. she gave me 750 for the ring which other wise would have been around 230. I have been at it for about 50 yrs. in 2020 i took what i had found through the years and sold her 96000.00 worth of gold and was selling her some all along to cover my cost I put it on the stock market and now making around 10% I am 84 now and still can put in a pretty good day dont find as many as i use to back in the day ,45 yrs. ago the gold was everywhare it was nothing to find 15 or 20 rings a day junk, silver ,and gold my best day was 36 gold rings in one day my next best day was 9, I was in a fresh water beach which had been closed down for years when I found the 36 ,PS. I did find 2 school rings in one hole one time,and I found a very expensive gold watch which was in the 96000.00 Hard To Believe But Thats My Story And I am Sticking To It Enjoy you channel!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Fantastic vid ! I’m a noobie so to me this was highly valuable info and also highly exciting to know you can make some decent cash from metal detecting. Can’t wait to get out there and find some gold. Thank you for your knowledge sir. Question, advice on how to approach a jeweler to get best price. Is the standard about 50% or are their a fair number of jewelers that will offer 90% or close ? Thank you for your help.

Awesome video...! I sold 30 years worth of metal detecting gold a few years ago, I had absolutely NO clue what I was doing. I took all of the gold I had in a bag, some had stones, and just accepted what they gave me, I had no clue what gold was worth. It kind of sickens me to think about.....Very informative.....!

You know watching the video I am curious if it was the very left charm that was the 18K you missed. I was watching that acid and was thinking it was not dissolving. I thought that I was seeing things. Great video by the way. I live in Columbus Ohio and I am lucky to have a family store that has been around forever that pays top dollar as well when you call around compared to the "we buy gold" stores.

10% fee is ok for a local cash sale. You can get 5% from sending it to a refinery, look around. Nobody does 2%, margins too slim.

I take my gold to a family owned refiner that's been in business for years. I get 90 percent of spot and they remove the stones and return them to me. These I sell to a local jeweler who uses them to replace lost stones in jewelry brought in for repair. I have sold some very nice items on Ebay and local market place. I generally ask 25 percent over spot. Was burnt years ago by a pawn shop. but never again.

I'm guessing when you test it you would see something other than gold underneath.
