do people often order things bloody and uncooked though? I mean these days you can't trust anything to actually be safe if it isn't fully cooked. Between the mass industry that provides the meat which may or may not be safe to eat and not know what drop shot swinging dicks a place has hired off the street, I wouldn't dare to order anything less than medium-well and even then I would be unlikely to order even that.

Thats a nice fun fact altho even when cooking them if you stuck your onions in the freezer in a real restaurant your boss would be pissed. You just dont do that, its just dumb in a real restaurant setting. Anything thats going to make an order take longer is completely wrong to do and have you actually tried to cut a frozen onion? It would be completely stupid in a professional setting. You don't have time for that. If you cant cut an onion dont work in a restaurant. Maybe a fun fact for home cooks but I still think its pretty worthless even if your going to saute it.

Holding a frozen onion and trying to cut it is way more dangerous than a little bit of sting in your eyes. Id guess you read that somewhere and its almost definitely true but dont start telling people to freeze their onions. Its just dumb

@@Dudeston Like, are you imaginin these things are frozen solid? They arent... They arent any harder to cut and arent about to fall or slip out of hands. They were just thrown in there hours before bein used in the case shown, but even when ive left them in the freezer for weeks they still stayed fresh longer for me and cut up and cooked up all the same as fresh ones. "If you cant cut an onion dont work in a restaurant" is such an ableist thing to say also, and just absurd as not everyone in every business needs to be able to do every task. But also cuz like, tools exist to solve these issues if absolutely needed. Cant cut an onion? theres a tool for that, multiple dependin on how it needs to be cut. You think that a restaurant wudnt ever use such a tool? Well thats also ableist, bcuz they are refusing a necessary and easy and cheap accomodation to a disabled worker who is able to perform the job as adequately as other workers, when accomodated by being able to use such a tool. If youre rly havin issues with frozen onions; cut the base off first and then boom, it stands perf fine and bcuz its cold it sticks to itself better and thus doesnt spread out (thus resultin in unevenly cut pieces) as youre tryin to cut it. Also, even beyond that all. The accomodation for a worker who has a distinctly adverse reaction to cuttin onions is to either make it so they mvr have to do that or be too close to it and unable to get away if needed... Or just get them some goggles to protect them. Its not to refuse them the right to work in a restaurant bcuz "everyone needs to be able to cut onions". Thats an ableist idea that seeks to exclude for no reason other than bcuz its easiest to not think about these things at all.
