Hello Ian, I really like your work and appreciate the information you provided. I am considering to upload my images to FAA and integrate it with my website as you explained. My question is that do you have to upload the identical image to your own website and FAA website? if yes I guess I should upload a higher resolution file to FAA?
Thank you for your kind words. In answer to your question, yes the image needs to be identical as the buyer will have shown interest in purchasing this image and will want to go to buy that exact one. The image you upload to your FAA site should be the highest resolution possible as this is what they will use to print from. On your own website you can show a low resolution version of the image just for viewing.
Hi Ian, thank you so much for this info. I am guessing you can skip the e commerce package when going though a print on demand company like Fine Art America. What is the best package that will allow you to link and just put in a button? The basic or the professional on Wix or the business plan on Squarespace? Thank you.
Hi Elizabeth. I think any package that will allow you to place a customised button anywhere on the page. Alternatively you could make a wordpress site. Here is my first video showing you how to do that: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-XRklGXf2o-s.html
I'm learning a lot from your videos. I noticed you have your logo on your pixels site as well as your own. Could you do a tutorial how to get your logo on the pixels site, or just answer my question here? I'd appreciate it.
Hi Sue. Thanks and glad they are helping. To change your pixels logo you need to login to your pixels site, not the FAA site, then go to website appearance - header and there you'll see the option to set a logo.
I don't understand what you said about adding images individually onto Squarespace. I thought that's what I did, but I am not able to click at the bottom on the image to get a button to enable people to buy the image. Can you explain again how to get that capability ? Thank you
@IanMiddletonPhotographyTravel I think maybe I misunderstood you. You mean add 1 image to squarespace, click save, thane another image click save and do that with all 200 images? Is that what you meant? Then I can get that button, right?
@@tonypaulprince Yes, the only way to place a button under each image is to add the images one at a time, then you can create and drag a button underneath. If you create a gallery, you cannot do that. You can only add one button at the bottom.
Seems like a good workaround if you don't want to go with the Squarespace business package for your website. Wish this method could be done with your own website's e-commerce.
Thanks. Yes it's a good option whatever website builder you are using. In many cases the business packages are much easier and simpler to integrate but are more expensive so this option can save money but takes more work to setup all the links.
I bet it's a good video, but I am hard of hearing. I will not force myself to struggle hearing when the voice is loud & and soft after the first few words of every sentence. SO, THE IMPORTANT THING IS... always be sure to... (remember...)
