I think it's a good idea to sell older game collection since we're getting a lot of remaster/port/remake lately. But, try to keep one or two of your favorite games for each console. Maybe someday you'd want to replay it.
I think that's the way to go. Having a BUNCH of games has honestly never been something I've been super into, so narrowing it down is the right move for me, too.
Gamecube version of Tales of Symphonia is still the best one as it was 60 FPS, every version since has been half the frame rate, even the so called recent "remasters". You got rid of the best version of that game.
@@JustTheGems just saying as strange as it is, the definitive version of Tales from Symphonia is somehow on that ancient 'Cube, all other versions were downgrades. Not just frame rates, but missing cutscenes too.
Yoshi's Woolley World never came to Switch, also very underrated platformer. Every stage in that game has a different design and no music tracks repeat in any level, amazing platformer.
This was so chill, and also heartbreaking at times (rip Sunshine, my love😭), but I loved hearing your reasons for getting rid of some of these! I don’t think I’ve ever sold a video game of mine before, but I think it’s super interesting to see others downsize/curate their own personal collections so they can make space for new experiences! Great video!! Also when you were talking about WiiFit, the image of the floor-to-ceiling WiiFit wall at one of my local game stores flashed before my eyes😂 never any balance boards yet hundreds of copies of WiiFit
I wish I loved Sunshine. I think if I'd played it when it first came out it would be a different story, but only playing it for the first time a couple years ago, it didn't land for me. And you can almost hear used game store employees' wills breaking when someone brings in Wii Fit and a balance board to trade...😅
Please keep the Gamecube version of Tales of Symphonia, the later releases have a lower capped framerate, gameplay adjustments that lower the skill sealing, and missing dialogue due to textbox formatting issues, overall the other releases aren't terrible and most players might not be bothered the differences, but they stack up and make a big difference. (Thank you for making great content! I'm glad to see another person looking to sell and curate their collection!)
In all honesty, I never actually played the Gamecube version, so I won't even know what I'm missing. (Plus I sold it before you commented, so I'm just trying to make myself feel better.....)
Thinning the crowd a bit can feel really good! The only thing I would say as far as specific games go: The Baten Kaitos remasters do not have any English voices. From what I have heard the English VA is passable to outright terrible, but it is worth considering if you don't want to read everything.
Yes, uncluttering is king! I've pared my gadgets and gaming gear down to what can fit in a carry-on bag, such a relief (and the missus appreciate the increase in shelf space also 😂).
Yeah, part of my "recalibration" is deciding that I really do want to just collect JRPGs primarily (and horror, but that doesn't really factor into this channel as much)
I've sold about 50% of my collection and still selling some things. At first it was so hard to let go, especially the collector's/limited editions. But I just got really tired of my gaming room feeling so cluttered and full of stuffs. So many games that I don't even play or interested at, like what am I holding them for. lol
Yeah, same boat. Except I haven't sold 50% of my collection yet. I don't know what percentage I'm selling, actually, that would be interesting to calculate.
Some great games here. Hard to play everything of course. Resident Evil Zero is an underrated game and worth trying before you get rid of it. The train level at the start is phenomenal.
Blob and Wiki were fun puzzle games. Shovel Knight and Rayman Legends are 2 of the best platformers I ever played. I have heard similar about Tropical Freeze. All your other picks I agree, get rid of..I recently sold Sunshine and Baten Kaitos.
I can understand all others.. but Wii fit.. (just kidding.. 🙂) ( your story how Wii Fit accessory just went under bed.. and then disappeared.. made me LOL..)
Haha, those Wii balance boards... I'm not going to include one in my eBay listing, if anybody asks why not, I'll just direct them to the dumpster behind any used game store, because they're bound to find a bunch there! 😂
Seems reasonable. It's easy to go overboard when collecting, and it's good to know when to trim the fat. I would check out your listings, but I just went a little overboard myself at Retro Game Con, so I should stay as far away from your listings as possible. ;) good luck!
I love this kind of video. Definitely hoping Muramasa gets a switch port so I can play it someday and actually finish it (used to own it on the wii as well!)😆
George Kamitachi has been asked directly in interviews why Muramasa hasn't been ported. There is something blocking a port behind the scenes he can't elaborate on publically, which is a shame. It 100% deserves a port.
I loved nights, it did take me many a try snd frustrated the hell out of me back then. I loved the music and graphics though-reminded me of something i dont know but somewhere inside do if that makes sense. Happy wife happy life good sir, your an incredibly lucky man with her at your side
NiGHTS is really cool, and especially for its time, the presentation is just killer. The wall I kept running into was the bosses - it was just never clear to me how to damage them! 😅
I feel the same exact same way about skyward sword. I never played it and I got about 3-4 hours on the switch and I’m still having a hard time getting into it. Only mainline I’ve never played and I feel bad about it.
I heard the Game Cube version of Tale of was the best version. Hyrule warriors is on switch. Yoshis Wooly world is not on switch thats a completely different game. Splatoon has a single player mode plus servers are going down.
Some really good games you never gave a chance to and are selling. I realize nobody can play everything and you have to prioritize, but you already own some good games and sell them without ever playing them?
Yeah, but I have to prioritize. My time is super limited, especially these days, and there are so many games I KNOW I want to play, that I have to let go of some of the ones I'm even a bit less sure about. It's a struggle, though!
Yeah, it's perfectly good on the Switch as well. Basically anything worth playing on WiiU got a rerelease on Switch, a platform people other than just you have.@@JustTheGems
Devils third is a fun game and I’m not even into the shoot shoot bang bang genre! I always appreciated the weird characters and the Dreamcast vibes the game gives off 👍 It could’ve used more time in the oven though, so if that’s your definition of junk… I guess it’s junk 🚮
Oh I don't actually know from first-hand experience, that's just what I was told (and I wanted to make the cover edit because I have the sense of humor of a ten-year-old boy 😅). Who knows, I might even enjoy it.
Hi Brandon. Solid video but a bit of constructive feedback. I really believe this could have been condensed down into at least two videos instead of one 30 minute long video. I saved this so I can watch it during my treadmill run. While I appreciate company on the dreadmill, I'm not sure you want to be associated with that.
Thanks! In all honesty, this is already kinda condensed down... 😅 I've still got a bunch more consoles to sell games for. But hey, I watch RU-vid on the dreadmill too, so I fully endorse watching this there! 🙌
Oof, you'll have to pry Baten Kaitos GC outta my cold dead hands. The remaster has been fine so far, but it has frame rate issues and the lack of the dub is just criminal. I definitely get it though. Sometimes you've gotta make room for new stuff, and if you're not gonna play them, you might as well sell them to someone who needs them.
I really like the idea of two games being condensed down into one little Switch box, that makes my claustrophobic heart a bit happier. I'm definitely running out of space, and every bit is helping!
I hate the entire Donkey Kong Country series. I don’t care who knows it. Last time I mentioned this online, someone said I must be too young to understand the legacy. Nope. I’m 41. It’s not for me…
Yeah, it's hard to explain why our tastes are what they are, especially to someone who is a huge fan of the thing you don't like. I mostly don't even bother trying to explain anymore...😅
