Sir if the volume of field winding is same for both dc shunt and dc series motor , then what will be the reactance when connected to ac. In which machine it is more.
Sir ..max emf will be along d axis which is field axis (vertical) but sir you told max emf will be along conductor in horizontal axis which is q axis. ...i am not getting sir ??

Sir at time (4:42 ) ,u said that armature current of shunt motor is less than the series motor, but sir I have a doubt that since armature current of series motor is limited by both armature impedance as well as field impedance ,so armature current of series motor should be less than the armature current of shunt motor,shouldn't it !
Sir series motor ma armature ko field impedance as well as armature impedance dono se limit kia jaa rha hai na ,to series motor ka armature current (not flux only armature current) shunt motor ke armature current se kam hona chahie na ??

You are watching in terms of networks... Look at it with a machines point of view. Due to the less turns in the series field the opposition offered by the series field winding much less compare to shunt field winding in the shunt machine. And in shunt machine sir said that field current is far far less but the armature current is as usual. Since (T=k¢ia) the torque produced by the shunt machines is very less so that it cannot overcome its inertia of rest... But when it comes to series machine the current felt less opposition and armature impedance is also less therefore more current flows into it and at lost due to the same current flows in the series field and armature of series machine and due to less reactance the angle between the currents is also less. Therefore the torque is adorably high in series machines compare to shunt machine
