Loempia is how Lumpia was spelled in Bahasa decades ago. I think early era after independence. Now it's simplified 'oe' to 'u'. I miss semarang, thanks for the video😊

harga Lumpia Semarang yang original memang rata-rata segitu dan memang isinya rebung dan udang, makan 1 saja sudah kenyang, namun sebenarnya ada outlet lain penjual lumpia yang lebih otentik di Kota Semarang, untuk makanan lain mungkin bisa coba juga nasi goreng babat atau gongso, asem-asem koh lim, kepala ikan kakap, wedang tahu, wingko babat, bandeng presto

AT 11:23 'OE' is an old spelling, originating from dutch spelling, like in Dutch TOEN, it's DOELOE in bahasa, new spelling is DULU. It's not exclusively used in central java but throughout Indonesia. I think in the late 70 they abandoned this old spelling and standardized everything in new spelling, which became U.
If you still have time, you can visit Bandungan, there are 2 places you can visit, Umbul Sidomukti and Gedong Songo Temple where there is a Cilosia flower garden and of course the air is cool there

Loempia the "oe" is read as "u". It is an old spelling as Indonesia followed dutch spelling (van Ophuysen) system until 1971. Yogyakarta was previously spelled Jogjakarta (still pronounced iogiakarta)..before the change of the system. My opinion the system change makes many people confused, they still pronounce Yogyakarta but officially it is spelled iogiakarta. Nonetheless, it is completely fine whatsoever you pronounce it.
The basic or main taste of food in central java and jogja was sweet, some of reason because in colonial time the ducth build many sugar factory and sugar cane farm in central java then the local people must work in there hardly, somestimes they didn't get paid by money and only giving the sugar so they adapted by adding in their traditional food ingredient.
Maybe you should watch Abroad and Hungry. An Italian youtuber who is focusing in culinary. He had try so many amazing food along Indonesia. He also tried many tasty food in Semarang, Solo, etc. Might be a good reference for you.

Wenn Naomi und Luke in den Städten Surabaya und Malang/Batu sind, schmeckt das Essen hier etwas salzig, herzhaft und scharf. In Ost-Java ist der Geschmack anders als in Zentral-Java. In Surabaya ist es nicht süß, sondern eher salzig, würzig und herzhaft. 13:05 Yup. Bamboo shoots is the main ingredient of Lumpia Semarang, or Semarang Spring Roll if you say so. It's kinda "love or hate" food because it smells pungent for some people. Luckily you guys can handle it. 😁 FUN FACT: Semarang is my second hometown when I was in university (2009-2016). But I never try to buy Lumpia Semarang for myself, because it's too pricey for broken college student like me. 😅

Well for lumpia semarang the sauce is sweet because you supposed to eat all the condiment together with the lumpia. You deep lumpia into the sauce then bite the young spring onion, chilli (optional) and the cucumber pickle.. So u will get the balance flavor. Mostly Indonesian food supposed to mix it and eat it together not just one by one... Enjoy❤
