Robots will never replace skilled union bricklayers. But when the technology arrives, BAC bricklayers and contractors will have added this type of work to their skill set. This robot is operated by bricklayers, supplementing the expert hand-laid masonry that only BAC craftworkers can deliver. IMI facilitated demonstrations of the Semi-Automated Mason for two weeks, demonstrating the robot to architects, mason contractors, bricklaying instructors, and general contractors.
