We go over when to use and when not to use semicolons. You will see questions about semicolons on the Praxis Core writing and other grammar tests. We also go over subordinating conjunctions and how they are used with punctuation.
We specialize in test preparation for the Praxis tests and the School Leader Licensure Assessment (SLLA).

0:53 Who calls "however" and "therefore" subordinating *conjunctions?* They function as transitions, but they're adverbs.

Ok this doesn't make sense. How do you put a comma before subordinating conjunctions, when they act as semicolon

You do not put commas before subordinating conjunctions. You can put them after a subordinating conjunction, after the subordinating conjunction follows a semicolon. For example: She was excited to go to school; however, she was nervous to make new friends.

You are correct when you said because and although are subordinating conjunctions, but you are wrong when you said however and therefore are subordinating conjunction because they are conjunctive adverbs.
