for me this is the thing i love about SSI, when he gets this stately courtly pace with a singer behind him (or two) there is a recording of him with MSS singing behind him that is lovely like this

semmangudi 'mama' (as he is fondly known) is the greatest gift to the music world.we can learn so much from just listening to him.tnk and uks are second to none in their respective professions

He is actually my great grandfather. I am really serious. My dad, Hariharan swaminathan's grandfather is him. I am not joking. But I only saw him once when i was 2 years old
TN Krishnan became what he is today by playing for stalwart vocalists like SSI and Madurai Mani. Who else would allow the violinist to have the last say in the kalpana swaram! Surely, today's vocalists have a thing or two to learn from Semmangudi in terms of bringing up and encouraging accompanying artistes.
