Great shave Mark. I love my Semogue 830 brush. I also have the Supply shave bowl and love it and I also use the Bigelow shave cream. I get great shaves with all of these products.

Thanks, David.:) I love my 830 too!:) Although I prefer synthetic brushes for hard soaps and shave sticks, this 830 is hard to beat for shaving creams!:) Simply great for shaving creams which is why the CO Bigelow got the call!:)

I have semouge 830 too and is awsome!!! For me the best boar brush ever!! Have you ever use da vinci silvertip brush? Thanks for you atention, nice work

Thank you.:) No, I have not used a Da Vinci Silvertip. A Silvertip brush is on my wish list, though.;) However, with this boar and al the terrific synthetics out there, I'm no longer in any hurry.:)

Nice video. My 830 will be here Saturday. I also ordered some Proraso red because I got tired of the Proraso foam drying way too fast. I had a Parker Badger brush some years back and it irritated my head and face for some reason, so hopefully I won't have that issue with the Boar. I hope my shave will be as good as yours Saturday. I looked up that Vikings razor and saw that some customers had problems with the paint flaking off, have you had that problem?

Thank you for the kind words. :-) I think you'll find the 8:30 to be very, very soft. However there is going to be a break in. So at first, it might not be as soft as you want. But after about a week or two, the hairs will start to split, it will start to bloom, and the ends of the hairs will become very, very soft. I also did a video on how to speed up the brake in process. Just a tip regarding that particular video. Don't submerge the entire brush just the ends of the brush hairs. Somewhat shavers claim that boar brushes with wooden handles result in a broken handle if the brush is submerged for too long. The handle the 830 is a resin handle. But, just to be on the safe side, make sure if you use the speed up process of breaking in the brush, you just submerge the ends of the hairs.

Hi, Andrew R. I've not tried the 620. I have the 830. Love the handle, it's very robust. The hairs are 90% tops boar hair so it's very soft. You may also want to look at the Omega #10066 Shaving Brush Mock Ivory Handle: amzn.to/2NDKJEi (affiliate link) The handle is not much, but the performance is top notch! Plus, very affordable.:)

Hi Barbarian...I just purchased an Semogue 830 Excelsior from the Portuguese Factory but they sent me a brush with the "Heredita" label on it. So I sent them an e-mail asking them to explain the discrepancy and this is how they replied: "Hereditas é the new designation for the Excelsior series. Semogue decided to rebrand it's products when it launched
