Sen. Raphael G. Warnock delivered a full speech on day one of the 2024 Democratic National Convention in Chicago, Illinois. WATCH LIVE: • Democratic National Co...
Rev. Sen. Raphael Warnock's speech was a masterpiece of public discourse understanding the pluralistic nature of his audience! He knew he was not in church, and shared his values without stepping on the values of others. This is something about which Christian nationalists have no understanding.
Wow! He spoke fire, life, hope and humanity into the DNC! From his words: on the resilience of the American spirit...to we all have a personal stake in the health of our neighbor...to how we are as close in our humanity as a cough.... to together, we can heal our land.... He spoke words to power!
Now that's what a real Christian talks like, acts, his spirit is right and he loves all. He represents what Christianity should be, what a excellent rare Man💙💙💙🌊🌊🌊
No it wasn't that long ago. I got horror stories from 1972. Yes 1972. In an effort to end segregation, I was bussed to a high school in an all white neighborhood. The worst years of my life.
@@justawom7500In my home city of Seattle, redlining was only outlawed in 1976. For all but perhaps the very youngest of us, these open and systemic racist policies were on the books within living memory of ourselves, our mothers and fathers. It was a sobering thought.
Agree! When Barack Obama was elected, a black reporter was crying in Chicago saying that when he was in school he had to drink at a separate water fountain
Sen Warnock is the type of Southern politician in the vein of Jimmy Carter we we need more of: a man of faith and religion but the type who doesn't force it on anyone and recognizes that legislation needs to benefit everyone, not just the fundies.
@TheBillionaireTomboi you are trying to make a parody out of a whole group of people and a religion, but you believe in unity and democracy? What a poor, unfortunate soul, smh
I am not a believer in a supernatural being, but I went to liberal Sunday school and then church throughout high school, and this is the philosophy of Jesus I learned and love. I am baffled by hateful so-called "Christianity." Warnock's understanding of what to strive for is so true to the Gospels.
@@beccac.4923 we have to work together in the interest of the people in front of us… and that might change how you feel about what I said… Because that includes the person police officers are apprehending, putting in custody, arrestong… Lots of words for the same thing. Not always the right move.
@@margotholmes7857if I understand you correctly, then yes I completely agree. I was a prosecutor in the Bronx for years and I remember seeing how so many of the people our office prosecuted (and believe it or not, often tried to help) were in that situation because their lives were just harder than they should have been. I became convinced that if we just took care of people no matter what - ensured that their basic needs were met - then ofc the economic motivation for crime would become a nonissue, and so too would the crimes of passion because I feel like most people who were already having a hard time would just snap and do something that hurt someone else, making their lives even harder. I absolutely believe that it benefits society to lift everybody up, because happy, fulfilled people, who society is working for, are not going to violate the social compact or hurt other people. In that scenario, the only people we'd have left to worry about would be the Trumps of the world who want for nothing and want more. We could focus our entire criminal justice system on white collar criminals.
Senator Warnock is a rock star. I love what he said about the pandemic and how the lesson to take from it is that we are all interconnected by something as simple as a cough.
I'm imagining those tiny orange fingers tapping his phone lying about his crowds and his convention, seething with rage, shaking with self-loathing. It's a great day.
It’s gonna happen. He’s already ticked about how Harris raised $36 million in a weekend. When he has nothing else he hurls insults. So, he’s got nothing else so get ready for the stupid insults.
Dr. Warnock, you brought that and we can run with that, or better yet, run on that (put the strategy and policy in place just that). Victory together is the goal, there does not need to be collateral damage.
@@cravenlevay8761 Your insults show your hand of hatred. Not a good look on anyone. Specifically to the big guy upstairs. Hope you can come out of that mentality someday. Might make heaven easier to access for you. 🙏
An amazing man of passion and eloquence. And his actions in the Senate match the words he speaks. He believes in an America where all are welcome at the table and all should have their portion. Thank you Sen Warnock
I’m a white atheist from Indiana, but I have to say that there is nothing more inspiring than rhetoric such as this from a black southern preacher. I’d vote for him if I lived in Georgia.
I completely forgot, until the senator reminded us, that Ossoff and he were elected the day before the storming of the Capitol. Do you think that and losing the senate helped fuel the anger of MAGA on the 6th?
I love seeing the diversity and unity of the Democratic party all inspired by the opportunity facing us this election. Get everyone to check their registration or get registered, and get them to the polls. Knock on doors. As Walz says, "We can rest when we're dead."
