Had to rewatch it like 20 times to understand. They don’t instinctively instantly counterstrafe as soon as they shoot a burst or as soon as they tap, they go full stop and take that extra microsecond to make sure the shots gonna hit, if it doesn’t THEN they strafe focusing more on raw mouse aim and THEN movement. When they do strafe, the strafes are very quick and not far as well. Basically as other people have said they have no “wasted movement” and it gives it that clean indescribable look because the movement and aim are so linked and intricate. It’s kind of hard to describe and I know I’m definitely not describing it properly but oh well

I liked the "No wasted movement", you really can explain their gameplay with that, add good crosshair placement/raw aim, and there you have it, CLEAN
@krytzy4608
@krytzy4608 Год назад
actually there are 2 types of calm aim the one that you mentioned and the second one where the player adjust the crosshair while strafing and when it connect with the enemie head he stop and shoot and when he kill him he take a milisecond to localise the other player and then repeat the same thing by strafing first(english is not my first language (= )

When he brought up that Less’s aim style is similar to this, I remembered Vct analyst’s breaking down his movement. The thing that makes him such an insane and unique player is the amount of wasted movement he has, it’s almost zero. Which is absolutely insane to think about, but all these players have almost zero wasted movement or momentum. Which makes them look like a turret at times but they hit every shot, the best kind of aiming style in valorant imo.

They are basically trading movement for more accurate confirmed shots . Also it helps with positioning as their playstyle do not reward for more wide kills . While on the other hand tenz probably has a more chaos driven style where he finds opening and kills . Thats why all duelist whatever the level mostly shine when feikd has chaos the more unpredictability in round the more duelists shine . While stop and shoot is a rythmic gameplay

I think coming from playing many years of Counter-Strike, it's just second nature that you come to completely stop and aim for head and shoot. Even if you move the slightest while shooting, your bullets will not land 99% of the time in CS, and it's very punishing. Then once you're comfortable with that method, you can mix in with strafe and a bit movement with coming to another complete stop, aim and then shoot for head again. The only time you should be spraying is if the enemy is very close to you; otherwise, it's always better to aim for head and just shoot 1-2 bullets at a time and readjust your aim and do the same again, because it's more efficient to land 2 headshots than 5-10 body or leg shots. Not only does this method conserve your ammo, but it's more about getting your mind to calming down while taking the time to aim and shoot, instead of just shooting and relying on RNG bullets landing headshots. Shroud also mentioned in one of his streams the reason why he uses bigger crosshair is because he doesn't need to focus as hard with his eyes and kind of just pinpoint a general area where enemy's heads are at and shoot at that direction to get a headshot; whereas if you were to use a small dot as your crosshair, sometime you can't even see where your crosshair is and you lose more time trying to focus rather than aiming and shooting.

Counter strike at a higher level has more microstrafing than val. 90% of great aim csgo pros fight the way tenz fights because movement is faster in csgo so microstrafing gives you more of an advantage compared to val.
@kennyli5838
@kennyli5838 Год назад
i think the idea tenz is implying is that CSGO movement habits doesn't flavor in Val, csgo moves faster and you HAVE TO hit a counter movement key to counterstrafe while moving at full speed. However, in Val, the movement is slower, so when you let go of the key, it will instantly come to a complete stop, whereas if you hit an opposite movement key to try to counter-strafe might cause you to move extra to opposite direction(if the timing isn't right) which causes messing up 1st bullet accuracy.
@amr1t_

Maybe some of it comes from CS but also on a fundamental level its pretty different, since valorant doesn't have counter strafing.

Agree with the top comment, if you notice in range, when you don't move at all it becomes much easier to hit the targets. (Because we are designed this way, since we suck at multitasking, which is a lot harder). It's the same concept here.. Instead of gen-z neon sprinting, sliding and shooting, its the calculated movement and focus on AIM that makes you a lot better than the rest.
@CryMore13
@CryMore13 Год назад
playing deathmatch like this is awesome, its a lot easier. Movement sometimes destroy you aim, like when you do kovaak, you are standing still, if you start to move, you will get less score, because you will need to microadjust everytime you move, or adjust with your movement, instead of just focus in the kill. And when you full stop, people sometimes overaim you and need to go back the crosshair to the enemy, this kind bugs many people.

I think, especially for Valorant, crouching is ok depending on how you use it. Insta crouching is a no go because it develops panic into your aim, causing most people to spray. As Tenz said calm aim is the best aim in Valorant. Crouching itself isn’t bad for holding angles or peaking operators. It disrupts crosshair placements making it easier to win an aim duel if you can hit your first shots. Honestly don’t use crouching unless your immortal +.

@@stelar9999While I do agree with most points, I think not using crouch until immortal is a bit too much. As you said, there is still value in crouching when used under right circumstance. I'd say it's better to rebind your crouch key, so you would only use it conciously and not out of habit.

It's like Tenz has this kind of habit(at the moment he streamed this) to KEEP PRESSING counterstrafe, (a.k.a. deadzoning), while shooting, so the bullets sometimes doesnt go fully accurate. (because tracking and shooting error). Ofc, sometimes he doesnt move when holding angle but what he meant is for entrying/clearing angle/retake situations. Mainly because make him harder target to hit, but kinda hard to hit enemy While, the people he mentioning, literally doesn't move when shooting, but make sure to kill enemy when shooting, EVENTHOUGH, by not moving he's an easier target. I think its because the dedicated so much to their aim and not movement like in fortnite when i was bad i usually would 1 pump someone that was trying to clip me bc i didnt get the concept of building only aiming so it was easier to kill people trying to clip me

am i the only one seeing them strafe in between shots the same as everyone else?
@amoghyermalkar5502
@amoghyermalkar5502 Год назад
Yes they are micro movements without counter strafe. Lightly press a or d to move slightly in a position where your Enemies have to move more than you. This was an epiphany for me while explaining this to you. Try that out in dm

just to clarify, i know how you move between shots and stuff, im just pointing it out because tenz is saying they are standing still, for me they are not standing still. I dont really see a difference in the way they aim compared to tenz
@sowansher7589
@sowansher7589 Год назад
@@vendetta9399 aleksander and yay have minimal strafing. they only do it if they see the enemy stands still and misses a shot. they dont do it preemptively. while tenz does it preemptively in order to mess up the enemies aim.

@sowansher7589 Год назад
@@vendetta9399 yay and aleksander are using more mouse aim than actually aiming with ur strafes. they only use strafes for micro corrections if needed.

maybe at this point on valorant is better to stand still in some cases because ppl are so used to people that strafe and preaim that and since all this turret god aim players dont move makes them harder to shoot?, does that make sense or am i saying non sense

Wouldn't it be funny if like, once the AI anticheat comes out (the one where you can put clips into it and it will detect cheats) we put shroud clips in and it just shows him blatantly cheating his entire career? Not that I have any doubt Shroud is a cheater, hes the western goat of FPS games. But it would be HILARIOUS to just see every fan/pro whos ever fanboyed hard as just get cut up about it.
