It's wrong that the beneficiaries of such funding don't have the public interest and democracy at heart. He refused to say that due to his values it would be right for the public to know to protect democracy and promote transparency.
Yes, the citizens of a Democratic Republic should be given the names of donors to every candidate for every office. Because if a candidate was honest and honorable in all his dealings, he would not accept contributions from a corrupted source. But if a candidate did accept contributions from a corrupt source, it would be very important to know.

Gosuch being evasive, changing the subject, not answering directly. A democracy is always about representing the electorate... benefiting the greater good not the individual & not about someone's opinion of interpretation which is skewed to a small group or individual.

Justice Gorsuch is a phenomenal, fair-minded Justice. I would agree with you that the adjective which you used may be appropriate for Senator Whitehouse, though.

So after 5 years what is the judgment on Gorsuch? Is he a failure and a terrible Supreme Judge or a brilliant Justice? I would vote the latter, by a huge amount. In fact, I would suggest he is the most brilliant justice since Justice Scalia.

It's actually hard to believe there are average people in this country who think someone like Gorsuch represents their interests and would decide cases that affect their lives fairly and without consideration of what his billionaire backers want done.
