The Senate passed legislation Tuesday that would force TikTok’s China-based parent company to sell the social media platform under the threat of a ban, a contentious move by U.S. lawmakers that’s expected to face legal challenges and disrupt the lives of content creators who rely on the short-form video app for income.

The sad part is they're more reliable for news than the corporate conglomerates. They've convinced you they want it banned for your privacy. The reality is, all these apps are stealing, using, selling your information. Truth is, it's taking money and power from zuck. He's lining the politicians pockets so of course they don't want him losing money. He loses, they lose. Instead of fighting them, maybe he should buy them so he can stomp on free speech some more. it's pretty much the worst thing boomers could possibly do. now that the only thing distracting the youth from observing how incredibly inhumane eurocentric culture truly is is getting banned(it wont get sold, that would be the dumbest thing china could do in this situation) , they will have no choice but to relish in the fact that eurocentric cultures only goal is to consolidate all wealth and power back into europe, which means they've been perpetually deemed as disposable slaves. i doubt they will willingly accept that fate and will almost certainly rather die fighting it than hang their heads and give in to the most harmful thing to ever happen to life on earth.

These bills are incredibly short sighted. They are not addressing the core issue with apps. What we really need are laws regarding protection of privacy and addressing reducing how addictive and predatory apps can be. Otherwise more of these apps will pop up and we will be playing whack-a-mole with them.

Please - point us to where the real jobs that pay living wages are. A lot of us were laid off MONTHS ago and have been desperately searching for reemployment since, looking for any job that can pay us at least close to what we used to earn. When rent is sky rocketing and food costs continue to rise, its really hard to live on 15/hr when you used to earn 75k a year. So please - show us where these real jobs are.
