My family and I left Alice after 45 years there due to the crime 2 years ago and its only got worse since then. I know many many long term locals just packing up and leaving.

Just give them more jobs, houses, money, cars, welfare, etc, etc, etc. Clearly giving them everything for free has worked wonders.

After watching Labor/the government for all these years I have come to the conclusion that the sheer neglect of Alice Springs and other areas likewise is deliberately done to allow the situations that we are seeing happening now to develop. It is out of these "chaos" situations that the government can then say "oh we need new rules, legislation, etc to help these poor Aboriginals as they are different to the rest of Australians". That is such a false narrative. Aboriginal people are Australian citizens and they should have access to all the rights and services that every other Australian has access to. If Alice Springs is lacking the ability to provide these rights and services then it is the government that is with-holding this and that is discriminatory. I know many Australian people who want to see the best for the indigenous and they don't understand why places like Alice Springs is not getting the help it needs. Jacinta does well to speak out over all this.
