@@ZaneofAustin Accountable for what? I admire and respect Senator Warren but her accountability efforts is similar to taking a shotgun approach rather than a targeted approach. I really think Fed is just there to do their job and we need to let them do that job without having to villify them. Fed controls aggregate demand through monetary policy. What does that have anything to do with CEO compensations? They do not have control over the terms designed by the board of a private org. Does that make any sense at all?

I am bit confused if sentator Warren is Progressive or Democrats, I know Sn Warren is tackling the Issue with SVB and Banking Sector. However if Banks takes risk its not your Warren problem, the real problem is cash flow of bank incase of run out on banks. This classic Democrat move implenting a policy that does not tackle the real issue and leaving its for imminent collapse.

Yes, 100% agree. She was trying to put blames on the Trump's Executive Orders allowing regional banks with asset below 250B, to bypass Dodd-Frank act. Well, if she wanted to create a new regulations for the banks, why don't ask the current administration to create one?

She was visiting professor at Harvard Law school teaching bankruptcy law. Her line of questioning is aimed at how do you fix the incentive structure of CEO pays to discourage taking such a risk that would harm the economy and then need another taxpayer bail out. After 6 years what has been implemented by the bank regulators and do you Chair Powell see the desired effect? Both are 999999x richer than I am, both have history I do not know and cannot vouch for. But I would appreciate a straight answer from Chair Powell. Maybe he can straight up say enforcing any restrictions on CEO pay can make me very unpopular with my CEO friends.

How can she define "risk taking"? A bank takes risk by default. Also, why private banks, including the Fed, have obligations to take care of the public?? If she feels some bank practices jeopardize the public interest, it's the congress's job to regulate it.

It appears, Senator Warren is not a “ drinking buddy” with Chairman Powell , is she? What she was saying that if banks executives risk a lot of money 💴 , and lose they should be responsible for it and get their bonuses cut! It make sense. In normal circumstances, if employees are doing poorly then no bonuses are required? She is asking Chairman Powell to put in regulations to monitor big bank executives bonuses and their risky assets return? Basically, Senator Warren wants accountability, does she?

I’m not for big banks but banks need the risky behavior in order to capture large profits. They need to be smart about the risk not stupid like SVB, but regardless risk on. If they are taking risk of course large bonuses will come. Who’s going to work hard af and take a lot of risk and not pay themselves more when it goes well…? That’s capitalism and it’s acceptable. But I get where she’s coming from.
