This whole thing was completely gorgeous, but genuinely, my breath caught in my chest when Leslie started singing "Not A Day Goes By" - one of my all time favorites - what I wouldn't give for a full version by him!
The best version of "Not a Day Goes By" is by Bernadette Peters from 1998. There must have been something going on in her life at that moment because she has never been as emotional as she is here. She is on the verge of tears and seems visibly moved. It's remarkable. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-5kMlQgyz834.html
@jlasf I completely agree, as far as I'm concerned, NADGB is her song. She's the reason it became a favorite of mine! It was just so unexpected to hear in this medley, and I do still think he did a wonderful job! (PS: thanks for the link! I keep meaning to save that performance and always seem to forget)
With four superb vocalists from stage and screen, the “dream team” made it look elegant and effortless. It sounds like you’re in the performing arts with a deeper understanding of ways this production could have gone terribly wrong. 🎭
Enough can’t be said about Cynthia’s beautiful voice, but I’ve watched so many of her videos, I have to say her fashion sense is gorgeous. Her clothes are always fabulous.
Cynthia is an Oscar away from the coveted EGOT and is actually in high demand. Leslie has been steadily working on many projects since “Hamilton” and I hope this Grammy performance propels him back into a much deserved spotlight. Thanks for your comment!
There has been musical numbers in the pre-Grammy show (now televised finally) but nothing close to this. I’m thrilled as well to see thespians honored so magnificently!
Oh wow that had to be stunning! I’m so blessed to watch many many rehearsals. I got chills and even misty hearing Cynthia live for the first time. Her tone is impossibly lush and she doesn’t over sing… She doesn’t have to!
Their harmonies blended together like magic. This was something so special to hear and see that I’m thankful it was recorded. I watched it three times in a row because their performance 🎭 was absolutely mesmerizing .😊
Agree that in the telecast the audience mics and applause should be muted- wish it was that easy. However the Grammys are in a huge arena so it would be nearly impossible to control. Plus, adding anything else to the commercial break than getting the floor crowd seated, sets changed and talent on their marks, it could technically mess up the live broadcast.
@@randicam Yup, I first heard him on the Disney movie Turning red fictional group 4 town and the voice actors sang live in 20th Unforgettable Gala and his voice blew my mind live
The vocal exposé here is the best I have seen in a while. Performance is paced and there is depth. The delivery is precious. It complements the event at a high level. Exquisite❤❤❤😭👑👌🎭💯🎶💃
Beautiful, astonishing, masterful way to honor all who passed this year, and especially Stephen Sondheim who wrote both of those songs. I like to think Stephen would approve.
I need Cynthia and Rachel to be in a musical together, but I’m pretty sure the power of their voices would actually cause me to go into cardiac arrest.
Omg omg omg….It’s a river flows and water is crystal clear…but it’s smooth, safe and beautiful river that will take you to a place of joy and see the beauty of grace and happiness
This is so needed for the soul and heart ☺️ Thank you, you are phenomenal (Did you mention that were somehow involved in this production? Would love to know in which way :) But in any case, congratulations to all! 😊)
