I'm 65. Became a Christian at age 15, just about this time of year 50 years ago, out of nowhere. A girl shared the Gospel, and the Holy Spirit revealed Christ to me, and it completely changed my life, thank goodness, because as difficult as life has been with Christ, I can't imagine what my life would have been otherwise. This was one of my favorite hymns, and I still love it.

I'm 18 and I don't know why more people my age don't listen to this, its peak!

Jesus saved me in 1995, as a 27-yr old athiest. Thank you Lord! If I had 1000 lives to live, I'd give each and everyone of them to him!

I'm 22, is there anyone around my age that listens to this genre of music? My mom would put these songs up on the radio and I would quiet it down when she drove me to school years ago. Now it's different thanks to being in the worship band. Praise God He's taught me to pay attention to the music I listen to :)

I am 73 and listen to these songs, and I also sing along.We sing them in church on Sabbath. What amazes me is how this Christian, God Bless him, did this amazing work. God surely loves us to sing praises to Him!!!!

I am 63. I haven’t heard this song since I was a teenager. As soon as I heard it I automatically remembered our secondary choir director who was also my Sunday School teacher, Mrs Opal Lambert. She loved it and we would sing it whenever she was directing the music. Beautiful.❤

Your music is such a blessing to me. I hunger to hear these hymns of my youth and dont understand why modern churches has abandoned them.

heaven has quite an revival going on I'm sure, sad for us losing soooo many many beloved southern gospel singers most recent Ben Speer. But I'm happy for all of them that they are in the presence of our heavenly father and having a very very good time reunited with all their family and their many many friends. What a joy of a camp meeting in heaven, can't wait to be up there and enjoy it with them.

Charles Gabriel, originally publishing this song in 1890, included an eight measure bass solo at the start of the Refrain. Most modern hymnals have removed this optional passage. I am 73 and for the last 14 months I have been going to a Church where they sing the old hymns. They have a lot of the Gospel in them. (the hymns do). In my "old" Church we just sang a lot of "praise choruses" with a "praise team." I did that for about 36 years and now I am ready for a change!!!

There is a reason that these great hymn writers composed the way they did. Some might feel that there are "too many verses." I do not feel that way. They wrote what needed to be conveyed to and through the worshippers. In the back of my mind, while listening to this hymn I asked myself, "Why would most modern hymnals drop that middle part?" Save space in a hymn book? I don't know. What I do know is that this missing/yet found piece speaks to me directly; it's not about sending someone else, it's about me going; I am sent to the harvest field. Wow, what a wonderful treatment of this powerful hymn. Thank you for sharing your glorious talents and abilities my singing friend. To God be the glory!
