Iron, Nickel, or Cobalt. These are the only metals that can be magnetized. I teach 6th grade science and Electric and Magnetic Forces is one of our units. Maybe Riley can Google Meet with us during that unit next year. Lol!!!!

You bring so much happy to our lives. I understand Riley's magnet crisis. I remember my Grandmother 60 years ago wondering how the little records were inserted into our tiny transistor radios. Technology and science are so confusing! Nora, as always, is wonderful to watch. Your new office is going to be great. You should offer your services for interior decorating. You have a flair. Hi Blair, I struggled with the magnet thing a TON growing up. The answer to Riley’s crisis is that magnets only stick to iron and other metals that are mixed with iron, like steel. However he tested the magnet on items that are made of stainless steel which are not made with iron, like the hydro flask for example

Riley’s magnet crisis...I’m still giggling. A husband who makes you laugh will carry you through a lot. That snack tower filled with yellow things should make an appearance in your next sunshine package-loved both ideas! Love Rileys sheer joy and confusion with the magnet! BTW, a magnet normally doesn't stick to austenitic stainless steel because it has less iron and the atoms are arranged differently. This also makes it more resistant to rust and easier to clean. Basically, not all metals are magnetic. So happy you're pleased with your office, it's great! 😊

I'm not a fan of pink, but I like certain shades and the one you pick is one of three I like..have you though about bringing out the blue in the painting? For security with your wallet being on the outside pocket of the backpack, use a little clip or carabiner clip to secure the zips together. Loved the office tour. It’s really coming along.

Magnets work on ferrous metals, ie iron content. It won't stick to aluminum, etc.

Lol, under normal circumstances, aluminum is not magnetic, mainly because of its crystal structure. I suspect this is the composition of some of those suspect metal objects you were testing. You guys are hilarious :)

The Issue about Strong and Weak Metals In their natural states, metals such as brass, copper, gold, and silver will not attract magnets. This is because they are weak metals to start with. ... Even adding a very small amount of iron into a metal like gold can make it become magnetic.... I googled it 😅😅
