I never been so happy on RU-vid video about Take-A-Lot, i read all dis instructions but with little confusion, but u made it so simple n straight forward, u gain a follower, Thank u very much 🙏
one of the best video ever seen on RU-vid...My brother from anothe mother plz continue doing some of this im really looking forward to sell on takeAlot now..
Thank you so much Romero. I managed to successfully send my stock for the first time. I had no clue on how to do it, but watching this video and following it step by step made it easy. I really appreciate your content Thank you once again.
straight to the point. thank you so much, the whole day trying to figure out which step comes first,2nd etc. to finally send my stock.really appreciate your videos. and your videos are so clear, visible and easy to comprehend. You are GOOD indeed.
@@mosapheto288 thank you. I remember that feeling all too well. The explanations from Takealot when onboarding are not always the clearest practically 😂
❤ your the best teacher please do a complete guide from A to Z on how to ship products to takealot for beginners.. you so clear in explaining thank you very much 🙏🙏😊
@@Romero_MeyerHonestly bro share some lessons you've had selling that you feel can positively impact others just starting out and if you're comfortable share the sales side of business it's motivating to see other people doing well cause you feel like if there's people out there doing it then you also can cheers Bru.
Hi Romero ... You have done a fantastic job of explaining. Thank you. I need to go thru all your videos to understand the entire process from start to finish... Thanks again 🙏
You’re welcome. Feel free to reach out via Instagram if you need anything. Hope the video helped make it simpler. Unfortunately there’s so much to Takealot and fees, etc so it does take some figuring out.
Thanks for the video brother.... None of the videos I have watched mentioned having to print stickers. I need to invest in a printer before I can open my store. At least I'm already approved to sell on Takealot
Well done on being approved on Takealot. Yes, all items need to have the stickers on. Many people just send the stickers to a printing shop, give them the correct sticker paper (as required by takealot) and ask them to print. You can do that in the beginning to get started. Don’t let the printer investment stop you! It will still be super cheap.
Hi I need help with fixing rejected products on listings, some are because of the image but I don't have a clue on how to do that in excel or ais there a way to edit and change.
Thank you awesome explanation you make everything easy, I’m busy with my first shipment just quick question the clear seal stickers applies to box of shoes as well?
Thank you. Good luck, hope it sells out quickly. It applies to any package/box that isn’t sealed in some way (like the heat shrink plastic, etc). So in my example, I could literally just open my scale box, so therefore it needs a clear seal-proof sticker.
@@nailsbyzaza1850 we try avoid them at all costs by not selling in high-return categories and items with multiple size options and having lots of specific information to reduce the chances. We’ve only ever had 2 returns. I want to make a video on that soon, but essentially you need to book a collection and have it sent back to you (if Takealot marks it as not sellable). Unfortunately sometimes they ruin the packaging, even when it was totally still sellable and not broken in any way, but then you have to repackage as they mess it up. If it is sellable we’ve seen then just put it back in as stock.
Thank you so much for this video it it was so simple and to the point. It really helped me understand the process clearly. I was proper stressed yesterday.. Takealot should rather use your video's 😂
Ah thank you so much for this! I really struggled in the beginning too. Still struggle with certain products and queries, haha. Wish it was a little simpler for all of us.
Thank you! Definitely planning on it. I struggled when we got started as there wasn’t too much resources. Anything in particular you’d like to see with Takealot?
@@Romero_Meyer also I have a question, when I tried to make my shipment on courier guy it said I have to enable liability cost and stuff, I didn't see you go through such on the vid. Did you ever have that pop up before you paid for the shipment?
@@astroprozo9604 yes, that option always comes up for me too. Just select next/proceed without selecting any options. Before shipment is confirmed it gives a warning to let you know that you haven’t taken any liability cover etc. just continue anyways and confirm if you’re happy with that.
Sorry man last one, Just wanna make sure I'm on track. Should I mark shipment as shipped as soon as the package gets to the DC or I can mark it as shipped once I'm done with putting in the way bill?
Hi Romero. Thanks so much! Our first shipment got to takealot with no issues thanks to this video. One question - we want to prep all our stock now for the next shipment. Can we go and print barcodes now and stick on boxes, or do we need to do that part when we are prepping the final box to send to Takealot. So basically, do the barcodes for each sku change at all preventing us from prepping all stock now? Thanks again!
@@TigerMonster-b5s that’s so good to hear. I also prep as many products as possible. The product labels won’t change unless you make changes to them. You can go to ‘manage my offers’ and select the products you want and print labels for them without needing to draft a shipment. I just print 45x of each at a time.
Thank you for the video ,must we mark as shipped only once the courier guy picks up the parcel or can we mark as shipped even if they did not pick up as yet ?
@@sleepmaster859 I used to wait until they came, but then usually forgot to go back and mark it as shipped. Now I just mark as shipped straight away to get all admin out as quick as possible.
Hi, great video just need a bit more info on packaging. For example if i am selling a shampoo and conditioner which is 2 separate items should i package it into its own packaging or can i send 6 of each e.g to joburg and will takealot package it as a pair for me into there own box and send it to the buyer?
That’s actually a really great question. A few things to answer that: 1. If you were wanting to sell it as a set, you’d need to load them as a singular product onto Takealot (a combo set). So that if you had ‘6’ in stock it would actually be 6 combos. 2. Because of that, they would need to be packaged as a set somehow with a singular Item Code on the packaging for the warehouse to scan. 3. If you also wanted to sell them separate as an option you would need to load another product for each of them individually. So no, Takealot will not pack a combo for you unfortunately. And you would need a product image specifically for the set, to align with the Takealot’s picture guidelines.
@@abdurrahmanayob9060 go to ‘manage my product’ page. Go to the item. Select SOH (stock on hand) and increase it to at least 1 unit. Then select ‘leadtime order’ under that and select 3 days.
You can technically yes, but then anytime someone orders your product in CPT you will have the extra fees deducted of transporting from JHB DC to CPT DC. Which isn't a problem if you have a higher ticket item. It will also give you a lower stock level score which to be honest doesn't really mean much unless abused.
Nice one bra. I got a question, what if you want to sell a product that doesn't have the sku/barcode? Help man, I also don't know whats the difference between the two 😂🤣 please elaborate if you will
The barcode would be from the supplier, the SKU is something you would generate for your accounting/stock purposes. If your product has neither...no stress. Just stick on your printed Product Label from Takealot (you only get that once you've uploaded that product and it's been approved).
@@Eh3dprinting nope. Any printer will work just fine. We prefer a eco tank printer though as the ink tanks are refillable and super cheap compared to the price of cartridges.
Hi Romero Thank this video really help alot. How does it work with lead time orders. Say you get 3 orders do you put them all in one box? Do they get diff shipping labels on each? Your help will be greatly appreciated Tracy
@@TracyJuta they can all be packed in the same box if they’re leadtime orders required at the same DC. Each item still gets it’s product label as normal, the box they get delivered in gets its shipping label.
I did that once too as I was still getting used to the new rule. You can’t unfortunately (at least not on TCG) so I just wrote in on the waybill by hand and it got accepted. Now I wouldn’t do that every time but if you did forget it’s worth a shot. Otherwise, if you haven’t loaded the waybill number into takealot yet, then you can just cancel shipment on TCG and create a new one and enter PO on that one.
I'm trying to create a shipment,on draft shipment it doesn't show where I need to confirm shipment.its download selected product labels, remove products, and move to new shipment only.please assist me
@@coastchannel1512 you would be doing the packaging as the seller. Feel free to check out my video on packaging for Takealot: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-7BsT2aERuyg.htmlsi=CRalq-MvY6XcfHmW
Great video, I have an issue, I have confirmed my shipment on the seller portal, but it has not pulled through to the booking system???? has this ever happened to you? If so, how do I fix it?
@@onlyuselessinfo never. Once you have selected ‘confirm shipment’ and select ‘book delivery’ it usually takes you straight to the booking system with it available to select the booking.
@@thethemutach8661 hey. I go over that in more detail in this video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-7BsT2aERuyg.htmlsi=USwLaxgakrZesTGl
Make sure they’re buyable (pricing is set on your “manage my offers” page and try promote them (product depending) once you see the stock is there. Otherwise just have to wait to see if they sell. Once stock is there, it’s a passive process until items start to sell.
@@ronicachauke hey. Feel free to ask if it’s quick thing to answer, otherwise you’re welcome to book a one-on-one by clicking the first 2 links in the description for a detailed answer.
I’m not entirely sure what you’re asking, but you need to send an average of 60-70% of your stock to Jhb DC and 30-40% to Cpt DC. If Cpt runs out of stock, and you have stock in Jhb, they will item on purchase from Jhb to Cpt DC then to Customer and you’ll pay a slightly higher delivery fee than usual for the transfer. 😊
Something similar has happened to me. Depending on your account healthy, they may block you from sending stock for a while, but if it wasn’t your fault you can just email them to explain and they usually unblock your account straight away (after review). I had a delivery rejected and returned but it wasn’t my fault as the delivery/PO sticker was ripped off in transit. They blocked me, but once I got the delivery back and saw that it was the Courier I just emailed them and my account was opened the same day.
@@MauricePieters did you follow the steps in the exact order in the video? If you’re on the sellers portal and go to your shipment you created, and it’s marked as confirmed. From there you just click the little icon that says ‘book delivery’ and it should link the shipment automatically.
@@karlamuller5875 yes. Although you just have to send it within the due date otherwise the leadtime is cancelled. You can also, and it’s recommended, to send more items in the same shipment to reduce shipping cost per/product. Takealot will automatically warn you that your shipment contains one or more leadtime orders. 😊
Ho Romero I’m not getting the whole idea are u only using Takealot to deliver your goods and what are u selling and from whom are you buying from thanks in advance
@@grahampetersen4826 hi Graham Yes, the goal for this video was just to help people to get their stock to takealot, which can be confusing for the first few times. I didn’t want to drift into details on what we’re selling, sourcing, etc. those will be in future videos to keen things concise for everyone :D
I wanted to ask if we sending a product through the courier guy, do you still have to book a delivery yourself or does the courier guy do it for you since they’re partnered with takealot?
@@naby4869 you still book the delivery, and then select ‘deliver through a takealot preferred courier’ and then put the Waybill # there and then allocate to the courier of choice. They then handle the time it will be delivered on your behalf.
There’s a few great articles online if you just searched “about SKU and how to make them”. But essentially they’re just Stock Keeping Units and you can create them however you like and only if you need them as they’re unique to each business, unlike barcodes.
@@khumelamalapa6239 I would just say that you are a seller on takealot and that you would like to her have an account with them, and want the takealot addresses needed for discount to be applied.
