I really want to find a bike trail in my state. I stumbled across Spider Mountain on someone else's RU-vid channel. One problem for me is TX is the second largest state so it's a whopping 2 hour drive from where I live. I'm still thinking about sinking my money into a real mountain bike to tackle this trail.
we drive 5 hours one way to day trip it and ride onewheels there. totally worth it. leave at 7, ride 12-4 explore the whole park and make it home before 10 😎
Looks pretty dope! Nice riding ... I'm up in PA freezing and was looking for parks to ride. I own a seasonal business so I have another month or so and was thinking about heading down. You think it's worth the trip? I see the elevation so not expecting Whistler, but have you ever been to Kanuga or Windrock, and if so, how does it compare? The lift is a major advantage obviously. I don't have an ebike so I'd need either a lift or shuttle. Thanks for sharing!
Hey man I appreciate you watching! Honestly I would say it’s worth the trip. I lived in the mountains of NC last year and made it to Kanuga many times! Haven’t made it to windrock yet. I’ll say that there’s definitely more to spider than in this vid. Every trail has many different line opportunities to hit which makes it overall really fun and keeps it fresh. Also, in the past couple weeks spider mountain hired new trail designers and have already redone several trails (they look sweet!). Compared to Kanuga, spiders dirt is just not on the same level imo (comes with the territory), but it’s fun to experience a different trail style. The rocks out here are more rugged and sharp which can be really fun to hit and experiment with. The trip would definitely be worth it in my opinion!
Also, if you’re looking to make the trip last a couple days, Reveille Peak Ranch is about 10 minutes from Spider. Supposedly has some really great downhill. I’ll be going on Saturday and will make a video of it. Not a lift access park but only $10 and again is supposed to be great
@@peytonsdownhill I have a Trek X caliber 8. I did some downhill in Eureka Springs and it held up well on the beginners. I didn’t dare try the hard just yet.
Absolutely! There’s a lot of opportunities for progression there. You could start with the greens and work your way up the the blues, i feel like it’s a great spot for that kind of thing.
Depends on how far you schedule out. If your doing 3 weeks in advance you usually can grab a ticket for 30-40 dollars. Also ranges on the day of the week. If you go to their website you can see a full schedule with ticket prices!
