As a Senegalese, who's been following Palki since WION and now Firstpost, I am proud of the thorough journalistic work she and her team did. We went through terrible times of uncertainty prior to the elections and thankfully we were able to come out of it, victorious. Macky Sall is in my opinion one of the worst leaders in West Africa, because he enjoys seeing Senegalese youth suffer, but people showed him who's the real boss. We will be eternally grateful to Sonko for inspiring the youth and rewiring our brains, making us real anti-establishment machines. Nothing held back Senegal to be developed as Brazil or Turkey, besides poor leadership and greedy politicians. Thanks for showing to the world how big of a democracy we are.

Macky sall cannot unfortunately provide employment to millions of youths that are unemployed. When the train was built and inaugurated, some Senegalese youths were employed through that. The port being built by the ocean are also Senegalese youths working there. Government cannot simply create multitudes of companies for youths to gain employment. Investors and entrepreneurship create jobs. There are millionaires and billionaire in Senegal who refuse to invest in the country for sake of fear of loosing their funds. I diagree when you say macky wants to see the young suffer

@@representationmatters Sorry for the late response, I just noticed your reply. When I said Macky wanted the youth to suffer, I wasn't referring to the unemployment crisis actually, but rather everything that happened between March 2021 and Feb 2024, the unnecessary use of deadly force most times. He, as our president, should have had the balls to tell to General Moussa Fall not to give shoot to kill orders to the security forces. This was an unprecedented clusterfuck, that he put us through, despite the appeal of many voices in the country. That will forever remain as one of our darkest period in the history of our young nation. Macky is an asshole, he doesn't deserve anything after this; neither a UN position, nor a diplomatic I-am-Macron's-Little-Bitch position, nada. Don't even get me started on unemployment, it was his job to put the policies in place, to organize and incentivize a business climate for the private sector, and find ways to reduce electricity prices which will thus accelerate industrialization in the country. But instead, he let his associates create lobbies, which were only means to make the rich richer, and the poor poorer. In 12 years, Senegal's energy prices are higher than IVC's, which had civil war in 2011, then went through an economic crisis that lasted for years, and still managed to remain the 1st economy in Francophone West Africa. Macky aye tapalékate ak sathie ak fénekate rek nioko weurone, motakh il n'a pas réussi, et cette faute là n'est imputable qu'à lui, après avoir tué plus de 80 jeunes. So, I don't know whatelse to say 🤷‍♂

What needs to happen is rid all the corrupt leaders who allow foreign multi national companies rape their resources while the people are in extreme poverty in many instances.
