For Koei's credential, I really love how they combined traditional music with modern music with their own specific theme and motif. Like in Dynasty Warriors series, they got traditional Chinese folk music fusion with modern Hard Rock, while in Samurai Warriors, they introduced a fusion of traditional Japanese music with club electrodance music.
i say they did a lot better with the fusion in SW than in DW. mainly because we're so familiar with DW having heavy metal that when they try to pull off something less hardcore like DW9, it just doesn't work...
SW did the fusion from the start with the Techno Euro Dance-Traditional Japanese soundtrack. DW really didn't start the fusion until DW6. They dabbled a little in DW4 with traditional Chinese instruments here and there. But DW2, 3, and 5 were completely hardcore metal rock.
Yes, well said! Your comment here is why I LOVE contemporary VGM soundtracks, because much of what they're doing is SOOOOOO innovative! The amount of genre-blending they do is just unreal, and you can't hear stuff like this, both of the Nier soundtracks, the opera metal stuff from Octopath, Halo + the Gregorian chants, Blasphemous and Spanish flamenco/guitar with orchestra arrangements, and much much much more anywhere else. We truly are in a golden age for new and exciting music -- but only if one knows where to look!

I am so dying want to ask all the western companies...what were they doing by making more and more and more gun games or GTA or even racing games .....while Japan make those Godlike Japan's Samurais or China's ancients Warrior Games with these Godly Soundtracks... Look at those designs!! Look at Those Outfits!! Look at Kunoichi's costumes...IT WAS CATCHY!! That's it...all America's games company can do, is just another online shooting again...or GTA or some Sport Games again...that's it....i pay money to those companies who deserved it by putting more efforts into making GREAT games for us to play!! And it's definitely not the companies who just keep upgrading the graphics and put some new skins and change the game names and called it a new game to suck our money without trying their best (YES I AM TALKING ABOUT YOU GTA 5 NEXT GEN!!!) It sucks to play any Western games anymore...i am going play Japan's games from now on and forever...... JAPAN's GAMES ARE GIFT FROM HEAVEN!!!
That's because Dynasty Warriors America would be cherokee, piqua, mowa, sioux, iroquois, aztec tribal wars... White people aren't interested in those bullshit. They would feel guilty about what their ancestors had done to the natives okay??? Plus Dynasty Warriors/Samurai Warriors aren't portraying history accurately. The in-game characters are down right insult to the actual historical figures lol At least it helped kids learn history in high school. it just my opinion. But about Sekigahara, I don't think they make Yoshitsugu Otani story right, he suppose to be dead at Sekigahara, not chasing after Ieyasu and killed him
