I am a Super senior citizen aged 87 years. My request to the F.M. is that persons like me who have income only from pension should be totally exempted from paying Income tax. We are overburdened by paying G . S.T. which on an average comes to more than 20 - 22 % . So save us from this burden of paying direct taxes for our pension.

For Telecom pensioners TDS is being deducted every month. Even super senior citizens who are Telecom pensioners are not being spared! Kindly comment on this please.
Forget about the tax benifits. What about the livlihood of senior citizens? People generally think that senior citizens means the retired people getting huge amount as pension. There are lots of senior citizens depending only on bank interest. 10 years back, Rs.1 lac was fetching rs. 1k interest pm whereas now it fetches just not even Rs.600. Apparently, central govt is not bothered about this low income SS at all. Very sad..
There is no income of sr citizens hence no question to file IT returns. More over epf---95 pension request for revise request pending whith govt since last ten years.
This merry-go-round is utter stupidity. Government should get a declaration from Senior citizens that if you want ITR to be automatic then tick on the questions and income information once for life-time and I.T. software will do the filing. Baat Khatum
Sr citizens ko koi tax charge nehi karna chahiye. They paid taxes throughout their lives. After retirement they don't have regular income. Why to charge income tax on fd or other scheme interests.
Baseless Sr.Citizen ka ITax.relaxation.even GST is charging @18% on Mediclaim premiums.which given after giving proper ITax. No thinking for Sr.Citizens.even Train concessions also withdrawn.
Pension should be exempted from TAX. Pension is not the income. It is the service rendered by the Pensioners for so many years. Interest income should be increased. (NEW TAX REGIME) Rebate should be increased upto Rupees Thirteen lacs ONLY in New TAX REGIME.
सांसद और विधायक की इनकम से कोई इनकम-टैक्स की कटौती नहीं होती चाहे वे मात्र एक दिन के लिए ही कुर्सी पर क्यों न रहे हों और उनसे किसी तरह का कोई इनकम-टैक्स नहीं वसूला जाता भले ही इनकम एक लाख रुपए प्रति दिन क्यों न रही हो; जबकि सेवानिवृत्त शिक्षक /कर्मचारी से जो कि २० ४० साल देश सेवा के बाद सेवानिवृत हुये हों उनकी बुढ़ापे की पेंशन से इनकम-टैक्स के नाम पर सरकार द्वारा लूटपाट की जाती है जिससे लगता है कि ये सांसद और विधायक आसमान से टपके हुये फ़रिश्ते हैं और बाकी सीनियर सिटीजन इस जमीन पर उगे हुये साधारण जीव-जंतु!!?
