My 19 year old girl was abused and all she wanted was love. She is the sweetest thing ever and she does the nudging thing when you stop petting her. My fur girls are my everything and it kills me to know that a human was cruel to them. I love my girls more than anything! I know my old girls time will soon come and i have decided when the time comes that i will continue to rescue animals and will bring home the misfits of the shelters, the seniors that nobody wants, i will take home the ones that get overlooked for whatever reasons. Every dog deserves a bed, a warm home and a couch to flop down on for the days of their lives!

Thank you all for your kind words! Greatly appreciated! Animals are special beings, they have hearts, feelings and emotions. They give us more than we deserve to be honest. I have a serious love for all animals, the other day i moved a snapping turtle from the side of the road. She was making her spot to lay eggs and it clearly wasn't safe. Sadly, I was 1 of 2 people that actually stopped to help her and i'm not really shocked. It has been days now and a neighbour who didn't know about me moving her told me her seen a turtle in the back laying eggs, it has to be her!!!!! I was so happy to know that she is safe amd doing her thing! Just thought i'd share a cool story with you guys. Sorry for the long post!

IKR? My heart was already aching, then she said that and I just bawled. It hurts so bad when you lose them, so I always say “never again, I can’t go through that anymore”. 3 months later and I just have to get me another one.

PLEASE consider senior dogs 🐕 when you seek to adopt a pet. Senior cats as well. These guys deserve to have a great life with you and your family. They're so grateful.

Me too!!!! I have a senior dog(19 to be exact) she is the sweetest thing ever but was abused prior to living with me. I have no idea how anyone could look at an animal and hurt them or neglect them i any way. My fur babies are my life and i will do any and everything for them no matter what!!!

Yes! And just as these beautiful sensitive animals who can feel sadness and fear or absolute joy deserve our compassion, so do the equally sensitive, intelligent, affectionate individuals who suffer horrifically, and die terrified violent deaths, just so that people can consume their flesh and secretions, even though we do not need to to be healthy!! Look at whether your daily choices are bringing MORE MERCY or MORE MISERY to animals. If you care about any animal, care about them all! Choose to be vegan for them! 🌱💞

@@shaunaanderson7387 Me too! And I can't understand how self-professed animal lovers can continue to support horrific animal abuse. Every person who chooses to eat the flesh or secretions of an animal is, I think, morally obligated to find out how that animal lived and suffered and how they died. If animal lovers were to become informed about animal suffering or watch slaughterhouse footage, I think they would have to become vegan. And those who say "I don't want to know" or "I don't want to watch" should admit that if the reality of that animal's abominable suffering is is too difficult to think about or to watch, then how can they continue to support it!

I adopted a 10yr old senior dog, from a dog rescue centre 'stray dogs umm al Qaim in the united arab emirates (they have a no-kill policy) he'd been 7 years in the pound, and no one wants an old dog. The dog pound gave up trying to get him adopted and moved him into a 'golden oldies' pen (away from the younger dogs) to live out the rest of his life. We adopted him by chance, he's 11 yrs old now; doesn't leave my side, night and day; squeezes into a packed elevator every morning, 6 days a week to the 10 flr office of my office, he's so popular with everyone who comes in contact with him. I'm grateful to have such a big, old, ugly (scary-looking) mongrel, that gives people nothing but joy. he's so peaceful, gentle, and funny every moment of the day. Even people not sure of dogs will like my old boy after meeting him. I wish I'd met him as a pup.

These two people are amazing. I'm grateful they found Hero and gave him the love he had deserved all his life. It's awful someone couldn't do it sooner. Hero had so much love to give. It's sad that Hero has passed, but this couple is better off for knowing & loving Hero. They gave Hero a family.

In looking for a small dog, I'vd seen hundreds and hundreds of big dogs, mostly pitties or mixes of, and it breaks my heart. Some look so "down" and there are th e ones who look happy and glad to be helped. They don't always know the risky place their in. PLEASE spay/neuter your dogs and don't backyard breed More pit bulls. Over ONE MILLION are put down in America. How does that happen? People let them down.

I don't quite. Not long after I lost Tommy my beloved 3 yr old American Staffy I adopted Rudy a 2 yr old American Pitbull Terrier, and have recently adopted a 13 yr old English Staffy, Lily. The way I see it is they are a new best friend, but not the same as the best friend you have lost.

It is wonderful to see so many actual experiences with Pitbulls. They are so kind, patient and loving. Without question they have the best smiles. They read your emotions, even if you try to fake happiness, they read any pain you are experiencing then go into therapy mode.

So very sorry for your loss. Take comfort in knowing that he only knew love, kindness and a lot of fun in his last years, and with a dog's tendency to live in the moment, all his bad times had been forgotten. It won't take away all the pain (I know from far too much experience), but it does help. Bless you for giving him more love in those few years than some basically well looked after animals get in a lifetime (they get fed, sheltered, even vet visits, but no love connection between the human and animal). You are the Heroes.

Hero - what an adorable, soft, gentle soul. I’m so happy that he had such a loving home in the end. Also very glad that he was able to train his humans to pet him. And pet him. And pet him ❤️🙌🏽🐶 Rescue pets are the very, very best ❤️❤️❤️❤️👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼🐶
